No performance difference between a bone stock US 78-79 and a bone stock 80-82. Pull the literature from back then and look at the test numbers. Then go out and race one with another stoplight to stoplight. Neither one of those cars are going to pull a car lengh on the other one. Wnat to see and feel a difference? compare one of our cars with a turbo VW GTI... As a matter of fact you won't see or feel much with these models vs a QV until 80 mph or so. That's when the extra 16 valves will wake it up. Depending on altitude, tune, the guy driving, etc. who can call a 0.6 difference in a 0-60 run by the seat of the pants? As far as top speed goes, which has more, a 79, 81 or 85? and by what amount? The numbers are so close they are practically the same. Besides who has actually spent so much time at 147 that they refuse to drive one that will only do 142? This is what I mean by no difference.
