Ha ! My thought exactly. Maintenance cost was why i sold it. In hindsight I should have just got it perfect and kept it.

    Oh hindsight...

Color is such a personal thing. A couple of others stated it looks better on 355, 360 & 430 which I kind of agree. I am not sure yellow works on a 456, 612 or FF at least for me. But I don't think I would ever buy a fun toy for resale unless I was in the business.

If you see a yellow car with the right boxes checked and it appeals to you - go for it. When buying a used car to me it is the entire package which is my motivator unless I just can't stand the color. All the fun cars I have ever owned I wanted to enjoy walking away from the car and looking back just for enjoyment.

One thing I have noticed is bees are really attracted to yellow cars. Last week I went out to the parking lot and a yellow Porsche had several bees on the car. So that could be a limiting factor if you have an allergy to bee stings.

Tho I've never a fan for owning a yellow Ferrari, I found the color to be captivating in person.

John, here's yours on Celebration's Victory Lap.

When I was in the hunt for a Ferrari I was looking for a red one, and didn't ever consider any other colour....until I saw a yellow 348 for the first time, and I instantly fell in love. That was the true definition of "love at first sight"

Yellow on the right sized car is stunning and is the favorite of many. Especially when the black trim accents make the color bounce. You would really need to like yellow for it be on a big car. Big cars seem to be more favorable to the masses when the color is more subdued.

I hate yellow cars. My wife told me she wanted a Ferrari that would get noticed. She said red or yellow. I seen a yellow and really liked it. I love it now. I does get you a ton of attention though.

I remember a very serious study by the Swiss which concluded that bright yellow (and orange) cars were less likely to involved in an accident that any other colors. The number was small, a few percentage points, but I guess it's the same reasoning than DRL.

Somebody please tell me what year that would happen. The merchandising opportunities for die-casts would be incredible! If you have two or three 1/18 Ferrari F-1s, you are going to have to buy a yellow one, just for the visuals in the display case!

Yellow has never deterred famous collectors like Phil & Martha Bachman or 348 Challenge car owner J David!

Your question assumes that there is a a general consensus. That there is "agreement, harmony, concurrence, accord, unity, unanimity, solidarity." I'd say that does not exist.

You might mean, what is the majority opinion about yellow F-cars. I would guess the majority opinion is (best to worse): red, black, some sort of silver, white, yellow, TDF. I'd bet sales numbers are along those lines

I generally did not like yellow when I saw a yellow Asparta with dark stripes in Franklin Lakes that was stunning. Much nicer than any red 458 I ever saw. There was a white Speciale with blue NART stripes at the Driven by Purpose event last year that had me drooling.

It depends, like quantum mechanics, on the observer. And the model. Years ago I was in a Ferrari dealership. There were over a dozen F-cars there, 8 of them red. But hands down the most incredibly striking car was a yellow 550 Barchetta. I later saw a red one and a black one, but with that car, yellow seemed as if that was the color God drove. And later, when I could afford it, that's just what I bought.

All 3 of my Fcars have been rosso corsa. Everyone should have a red Fcar at least once IMVHO.

Like Robb mentioned above, yellow has historical significance for Ferrari. It's the 'official' color of Modena, Italy...hence the name, Giallo Modena.

Not to mention it looks gorgeous!

I doubt very much that black is second to red.
