Paid $600 for a used auto trans for a 280S sedan that I paid $1500 for in the first place, shop hadn't even "tested" the trans, but I guess I was lucky they gave me another one when the seals were blown on the first one (still had to pay my mechanic to pull/install/pull/install, etc. . .)

Yes the supercharger was a Comptech, actually $9,800.00, about $1500 for installation. Totally worth it, especially if you buy the 9PSI boost kit (at least another couple grand). I paid $3,700.00 for the front brake kit for that car, $8,500.00 for transmission mods (including a $2,800.00 ring and pinion set), then another $5,300.00 for repairs when I missed a shift four weeks later.

    ’83 308 QV:

Rubber collar at base of targa top locating pin – Ferrari cost was $85. I replaced with 3/8” long piece of ½” ID x 5/8” OD hose for essentially nothing.

Vinyl targa top cover– Ferrari cost was $575. I used a bath towel ($10), and webbing and Velcro from the wife’s favorite fabric store ($4 total). Of course, she probably spent $50 while we were there, but I still came out way ahead.

stroker crank for 1930 t35b...three giant full ball main bearings [1-3-5];two split cage hyatt roller mains [2-4] and 8 full caged rollers on the rod big ends...made to spec by hand essentially per specific crankcase measurements...if you want to drive your car hard [or your crank's in a twisted pile] you gotta pony up...so i guess unless you just want to look at a static display, loving to drive the beast hurts the checkbook.
