I had a similar problem my cars on a couple occasions. On one occasion, a wheel was bent, but it was balanced, so it was fine up to 100. On another occasion (both on TR and 355), the wheels were not balanced properly, and had to be redone by a better shop. And once, the problem was with my front suspension setup (out of whack after hitting a pothole, but unnoticeable until 90mph+).

I was south of Munich on the Garmish-> Munich Autobahn on an early Sunday Morning in a Testarossa.

In retrospect it was a really stupid thing to do...as when I returned to the U.S. I learned about that big crash in NV involving a TR...(something about the tires not being able to handle the speed...I think)

I've done 280Km/hr+ in my TR and its pretty stable. The problem with that TR in NV was that they were not using high speed rated rubber. It was a very unfortunate accident, but it was completely the drivers fault, bc they knew about the ill-suited rubber before the run and they did it anyway.

About 150 in my 308 (way back in 1990 ish) on the M40 (UK)
About 170 on an FZR1000R also on the M40
About 190 in an F40 (Passenger) on a toll road in France
    Something over 160 on a GSXR750 in the 405 :) numerous times

On the track - 14Krpm in 6th on a GSXR at Laguna Seca, and missing the braking points, into the sand at ~70mph - that hurt, a lot....

I am starting to look for another Ferrari, but haven't decided on what model.

Are you serious? Hell no, it's not normal! Mine does 185 easy with no rumble in the wheel. You got a serious problem! Get it fixed!! It's obviously not tire balance if you changed wheels/tires and have the same problem.

Not fastest, but best of all: 140 mph (road limited) in a Mclaren F1, and the thing was still pulling like a freight train.

Make sure you are balancing the front tires/wheels on the car, spin them up to approx. 100 MPH and then check the balance. I only know one guy here that does that, all the rest don't balance them properly for high speed.
