Not even breathing hard at this speed, and the speedo has seen much higher numbers... oh, and the speed-limiter (supposedly set for 165 or 168) doesn't work on my car Image Unavailable, Please Login
yep, the db7 vantage automatic does (not the stick). apparently, nobody told the techs that it need to work though
the fastest ive been is 140 which isnt too bad it was in a bmw station wagon which was pretty crazy, my uncle was trying to prove it was the "fastest station wagon you can buy" been over 100 in a maserati, corvette and a couple others
Going ~160 in my [then stock] NSX was a bit scary, especially trying to stop. Going ~160 in my 360 seemed like nothing.
165mph in an original 427 Cobra 150mph on my ZX11. At that speed on a bike I don't think you could fall off if you tried. I thought I was going to squeeze the gas tank out from between my legs.
144 through the speed traps at Watkins Glen in my GT-1 Corvette 140 (so far) in my 512TR 118 in my Datsun 280Z Oh, almost forgot. 107 down hill in my GMC Safari, when the computer shut it off. (See pictures in Ferrari F-25 thread. Ferrari Safari)
300 KpH in a Testarossa down hill with the wind behind me in Germany 160 mph on the front straightaway of Indy during the Challenge race in a 360
170mph on the speedo in a Ferrari 456 on public roads. 176mph GPS verified in a Porsche 996 Turbo with a few mods - test track 155mph in a Ginetta G33 racing a motorbike - public roads again!
310km/h (194mph) on the speedo of my 360 modena on the highway close to my house. And all allowed. I live in the Netherlands and close to Germany. This would be heaven for you guys in the USA...
You're right about that! The fear of being caught and possibly going to jail takes much of the fun out of driving a Ferrari in the US.
172mph gps in my skyline when i first got it until i started getting pig paranoid and oh yer the whole safety thing.
136 in a Richard Petty Driving Experience NASCAR NEXTEL Cup car, until I had to lift the throttle and set it up for the next turn. Those turns come up fast when there's only about a half-mile of straightaway.
180 mph on Interstate 405 at about 3 am years ago in an original GTO equipped with gearing for Le Mans. On a trip to the factory in 1970, I got the opportunity to drive a US spec Daytona that was a test mule for some smog equiptment etc. and was well broken in, the pr. fellow who accompanied me told me that this was the Autostrada and it would be a shame to be passed by a Fiat prompting me to down shift to third and then wind it out to redline in third then fourth then 5th. The nose rose and the steering got lighter but for about 4 minutes we were flat out in what I thought could never be topped at about 270 kph. I'm sure that 205 mph in 599gtb will be far less dramatic with all the new improvements in aerodynamics, positive downforce etc. Those rides in the GTO and the Daytona were incredible considering the noise, the smells, the buffeting in those great old cars.
Man thats a great pic. How good are the roads there? I couldnt hold my camera still at 130mph to take a nice pic like that. You are going much faster and the pic is perfect. Although our roads here are really sh*t.
Roads are mostly good in the temperate areas of the US. In areas where there are seasonal extremes, you'll find roads to avoid high-speed travel on. The Aston has an amazingly good ride, even with sport suspension.
140+ in a 2006 Murci Roadster (felt like the car was not even trying) 147+ in a 2006 Bentley GT coupe (smooth, felt like 75mph)
me not in a ferrari, but in poland in a opel i went about 220 on the high way, and my dad hit 270 in his audi at a race track.
