227 in a Corvette http://www.centerforce.com/sponsored_vehicles/rickdoria_sponsoredvehicle.tpl Only 165mph at the start of the 55/end of Newport Blvd in my F40.
I suspect Ms. Enzo used to be "Miss360" on fdomain...careful, she will embarass you with knowledge! she schooled me on the advantage/disadvantage of a V10 a year ago! For me the fastest was a backseat passenger (4 ppl) in a 996 turbo, 172 MPH.
Numerous 180+ runs and 1 -195mph (Viper while pumping a 200 shot of Nitrous) All on sanction Silverstate races.
I drove a modified 1995 Trans Am to a verified 282 km/h. Thats about 175 mph. How was it verified you ask? By the friendly RCMP officer who arrested me for it.
If I have the top off my vette It hits 140 and then starts getting really sluggish because of all the resistance. I've had CDs go flying out the top before while I was driving down the road doing about 140. Distractions like that are why speeds of that magnitude are not good on Open Roads. But its still fun though.
On the money, a Conti. I've never driven a MarkVIII I've heard there kinda quick... am I right or did I hear wrong?
150 on the way back from the beach with the wife in the car. She didn't notice how slow the other cars I was passing were. Over 160 with the 348 on the way to Modesto one day in 2000. 195 on a GSXR around Fontana, on the banking. Felt a little faster than the 355 at 150. Art
LOL, no I'm arfraid not... unless its on the way from MO to Maine about a year ago. They're quicker then many people give them credit for... not fast by any means, but an okay drive in a straight line. As we all know it floats and wallows like a boat in the twisties. I'll take you up on the beer (I'll buy a round too ) to shoot the ************ if I'm in your town anytime soon.
He was chasing me doing 163 in a 911 C2. Did 140 in the Twin Turbo recently, but it's new so I haven't had a chance to really stretch its legs.
130 in my 360. Just got it a few weeks ago. 152 in a previous 427 Corvette. Going to traffic school next month for 35 in a 25 zone. Go figure.
Sounds good to me... Yeah, the Southern State is here on Long Island... i was in a rental and had no bones with flogging the crap out of it... i was pushing it for all she was worth, the needle teetering just above 115 when the bastard in the Lincoln just kept going... It blew my mind; i thought for sure i would take him...
Okay, here is my list: Street Car on street: 165ish in 360 Modena F1 Motorcycle on street: 150+ on a Yamaha RZ1 Race car: Maybe close to 200 mph+ in a 1990 Toyota MKIII GTP car. Boat on lake: 110+ in hydro with Chevy big block. Boat on ocean: 135+ in an offshore power boat. Called "Ducking Out" in Long Island Sound in the late 80's Airplane: Back seater (GIB) in an F/A 18C- Mach 1.2-1.3 The best: 400+mph in a P51 Mustang (Back seat) at Reno!! At ground level!! Next Goal: Hypersonic velocity (Mach 5+) before I die.
170 in the 550 on I-5 at crack of dawn on the empty highway. V-1 on. Smooth sailing - the car had more, but I didn't. Suprised this thread hasn't been swooped on yet by all the saints with cries of a. "keep it on the track" b. "you are endangering your life" c. "you are endangering the lives of others" d. "you are reckless and an idiot" e. all of the above I know - they all make sense - but I had to do it once.
I should but I am too nervous - that would be quite a ticket! My guess is your are probably done driving for a while if you get a ticket at over 150 mph. I do run it over 100 almost every time I take it out of the city limits. that would be a good discussion - what is the highest speed you have ever been ticketed for - and what happened.
335kph Sarus tuned R33 Skyline GTR while in Okinawa Mach 1.4-1.5 F-15 167mph Suzuki Gixxer 750 135mpn 95 M3
They were in a CD case but they still got sucked out. High speeds with no top on make things pretty hairy.
