You know I forgot all about the spider. Those haven’t hit yet. Yeah- very few Pistas in the country.

Not sure what they have done in the past with divulging this info. However on another thread a couple of members posted that their dealership was getting between 20-25 Pistas.

There are 48 Ferrari dealers in the US and that means about 1000 Pistas. Pista spiders are about 1/3 the number.

How accurate is the 1000 number? No clue. Just some informed speculation on my part.

Assume the US is 50% of the number and sub 2000 globally as not every US dealer will get 20

Best guess seems to be between 2,000 and 3,500 coupes from what I remember of everyone’s comments and between 600 and 1,200 spiders. Very difficult to be more precise than that. Some even think the totals are much higher but that seems to be based on “Ferrari is now a traded company so they will produce as many as they can while making people think they are not” which may be accurate but is basically an assumption and takes no account of other factors Ferrari may be influenced by. One poster is a supplier to Ferrari and made a component for the Pista and said they had been asked to produce something like 6,000 pieces (may have the numbers wrong but it was a bigger number than the range quoted above). Many took this to be firm evidence but if the component was an engine piece we now know that F8 carries the same engine so his number would actually support a volume of Pista on the lower side.

All I know for certain is my dealer seemed very serious when he told me and other customers that the Pista and especially spider would be very hard to get (has never said that about previous Speciale but did about Aperta) and I have some supercar-owning friends who would love a car but can’t get one.

Two dealers on two continents have indicated sub 2000 units for coupe and sub 1000 for spider. As all their allocations are done they have no reason to exaggerate one way or the other

I really wanted to feel the same way about the F8 that I do about the Pista, but I just don’t. Awesome car for sure, and a great addition the lineup, but for me, it’s just a little too “Pista-light”. In an alternative universe where the Pista didn’t exist, I would be all over the F8.

I know dealerships which are receiving 40-50 coupés each. There will never be official total numbers available I guess.

Correct, the 488 will not have a GPF fitted, you are good, (apparently new 488 deliveries for those in EU/UK the HELE system will be permanently on, doubtful that will occur for USA deliveries, has not thus far).

The F8 was apparently launched one year ahead of expected schedule (i.e. 5 year run would normally have been expected for the 488, it is also apparently why the Pista was released a year earlier than expected as well), and the F8 shares same chassis as the 488/Pista. I think the F8 was rushed through development to get it ready for 2020 production (which will require GPF, and the F8 will have GPF fitted, that is already announced) so no time to create new chassis, etc.

And yes, no point in re-engineering the 488 to be fitted with GPF for its 'final production year' so the F8 was created, increased power, etc. I expect the F8 to be around for at least 3 model years before replacement though there is a chance it will only be two, depending on how well the F8 can be made to comply with 2022 EU regulations:

And likely there are dealerships receiving around 10. Probably 20-25 is the average.

The largest dealer in the US got a mere fraction of what you are claiming. your number is not correct by a large margin.

Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale is the largest volume Ferrari Dealer in the U.S. I think they handle over 150 new Ferraris per year.
