An earlier post about difficulty finding a 348 struck my curiosity. Is anyone tracking SELLING prices for these recently? I'm not talking about "outlier" cars - cars with way low miles or way high - but 25K to 50K miles 348's.
    tb? ts? spiders?

Thought this would be an interesting discussion. As a side note, it seems the yellow ones are extremely hard to find. And, there SEEMS (and it may be a false assumption) that there is quite a discount for off-red 348's.

I was the one whoasked that question. I looked yesterday and found a bunch of 328, and TR's for sale but very few 348's. My other questions which I am sure will cause some conroversy is

"If the 348 has such a bad rep, then whya re there so few out there in comparison to the TR's and 328?"

I like the look of the 348 and will buy one in the coming months. Just gotta find the right one.

    Just my two cents

Probably true about the discounts for off red ones. I bought a white one 91 TS about 3 months ago with 20K miles. Car was really well cared for and all the electronics worked great except for the passenger auto seatbelt. Paid 45K for it...probably would have been looking at least 50K for a red one. Really wanted a yellow one but could not find one.

I just sold my 348 Spider (Red/Tan) with approximately 6k miles. Near perfect with all books, tools, records, etc... A complete car.

Sold to a dealer here in FL for $64k.
Dealer here sold it to another dealer in OH.
That dealer sold it to a F-chat member for approx. $74k.

Such a disconnect when buying vs. selling. When buying, I can't seem to find the right car at a fair price. When selling, I can't seem to find anyone who wants to buy at a fair price.

It's true--there aren't a lot of good 348s ts/tb out there. I feel like a lot of them are locked up in storage with the keys thrown away.

But I helped one F-Chat member find a very nice 348 tb recently. If you look hard, one will pop up.

I think the market for a pre-'92 348 is much lower; I think a '92 or '93 348 gets a premium. And I also think that a tb gets a premium because they are rare and there are lunatic "coupe-only" guys out there (like myself) who will pay when they find one.

There are quite a few in the market letter. However, one reason you are not finding so many, especially 91-93 is they didn't sell all that many to begin with. In the US, a small number of 89's, 1990 was the peak year, quite a few 91's, far fewer 92's. In '93 there were just the 100 SS cars. After that, there were challenge cars (32 TB's, 13 TS's) 15 more ss in '94 and all the rest spiders. Paience is a great virtue when shopping for used Fcars.
