Just bought this print but I have no idea what kind of car it is. Any help? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like a mid 50's MG T-series to me, not sure if it's the F or D though.. Leaning towards the 'F'.
The MG TD has more of a blocked grille then the TF- leading me to believe it'd be closer to the TF-- but the TF still has a bit of a square-er grille then the picture which tends to have a bit of the MG A front fascia.. Maybe a combination of the TF body w/ the more elegant A grille?
I thought it may of been a MG, but MG's grills are too upright and squared off. The badge is also blue and MG badges are red aren't they?
I'm pretty certain it's a Riley, but I don't know my Riley history too well, give me a few minutes to check. Possibily a Sprite? About 1936?
You know I think you're right Miltonian. So now I know I can at least have "Classic Riley" put on the frame. Now I just need to find a frame for a 37 inch by 47 inch $5 closeout heavy-stock lithograph....
Jeff nailed it...sorry I didn't see it first. '36-38 Riley Sprite Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Always a treat to beat Sfumato to the punch - and by 31 minutes! Found this picture in one of my books.
OK, Jeff, ya smart guy What's this, and what does it have to do with Nepal? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, it's the "White Riley" of Raymond Mays. Despite finding a 5-page article on the car in C&SC Feb 1993, I haven't been able to find any connection with Nepal, and I have to get to bed. I bow to your knowledge!
Led to the ERA's, one driven by Prince Bira of...U guessed it Nepal Currently for sale I believe...No bowing, ya smoked me Lee
You are quite correct, Simon! I thought Siam, typed Nepal, didn't catch it this AM either. Like I said, bowing isn't called for, perhaps a drool bib??? We need a sticky Obscure car game... Lee
