Good question! I've seen this photo posted many times but never did hear the real story. Nor "the rest of the story" for that matter either. But I seem to recall something about a flood, Katrina maybe? I'd like to know the facts as well.
snopes.com: Ferrari, Ford F-150 Accident what's most amazing about the story is that someone owns a 360 AND a PT Cruiser. talk about opposite ends of the automotive spectrum
Thanks Chas. That was on my facebook yesterday. The event took place in 2007. Funny how these things get resurrected. I hope the 360 owner was made whole. What a freak occurrence.
Thats an old pic and the story I heard way back was wife found out he was cheating and ran the truck up over the 360.
I will pay someone 50 American dollars if they can get the VIN of that car - with proof! Chas can vouch for my willingness to throw away 50 American dollars.
2005, actually. More pics: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I spoke with the owner of the Ferrari, he doesn't have it anymore, doesn't know where it went. I spoke with a few women in the Public Records office of the Fort Smith, AR PD, and they gave me some information ...but not enough. So I need to make some more calls tomorrow. Getting closer, but not quite there yet.
what happened to the car? off to the scrapyard, did it get dismantled, is it still on the road? salvage title or no?
That's what I'm trying to determine - I have the incident report number, the evidence number, the name of the owner, the name of the kid driving the pickup - I have everything except the VIN of the Ferrari. But the [former] owner of the Ferrari said someone from Florida called him a while back and asked him if he had the toolkit for the car - so something tells me it was fixed up and sold off. Cross your fingers, wish me luck, and let's hope for the best when I make more calls tomorrow (the people I need to call aren't in today).
The original owner of the 360 owns a body shop in the town. On the road that the incident occurred on. Who knows if he was in the biz in 2005 or maybe the fcar was his first refurb. Lol. Do I get at least .50 Carb? How about honorable mention? 😜 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bob, I got a ticket in NJ more than a decade ago that I never paid; the least I can do is send some money to NJ (but that doesn't mean it has to go to the court ).
Keep the money. Come to NJ. Well take a ride over to FNA and poke around and have dinner and a drink. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey, if you don't want the $50, you shouldn't have got involved! ...if you can get me into FNA where I can get ahold of some serial number lists, I'll double it.
Speaking of which, how much public access would one have at FNA? I've always wondered that, living 15 minutes from there.
I have never been to FNA directly but had an interesting encounter at the Clinton Inn in Tenafly one night. It was during the nor'easter after Sandy that wife and I found ourselves with the last room in the house at the Clinton Inn in Tenafly. After checking in we went down to the bar around 9 pm and starting chatting with the guy sitting next to me. One thing leads to another and where are you from, etc. He is from Tampa, what the heck is he doing in NJ post Sandy? He is up here for a week of training. What kind of work do you do? He's a Ferrari mechanic and in a class at FNA. Really? Yes, all the Ferrari techs stay here when they come for classes. He proceeds to point around the bar to about ten guys, that's a tech, he's a tech, etc. Well what are they teaching you for a week up here? He says do you know what a 458'spider? Well we are up here for a week to learn how to fix the roof!!! True story. So if you want to chit chat with some Ferrari techs sometime, head over to the Clinton Inn bar.
