Anyone know what the all time high price for a Dino at auction, and/or privately is?
Here's some of the all time highs for 246 Dinos at Gooding and Co.($627,000 for a chairs and flares GT) and RM Auctions($473,000): Ferrari 246 Gooding & Company Results - | Classic Car Auctions | RM AUCTIONS But the highest goes to the 206 Dinos. At the Gooding auction this year at Amelia Island a 206 sold for $638,000: 1969 Ferrari Dino 206 GT | Gooding & Company The 206 coming up for auction in Monterey this year at Gooding may beat the record: 1968 Ferrari Dino 206 GT | Gooding & Company
There are lots of cars that transact privately, most of which specifically are intended to.... Not that these are of public record, but there are lots of cool stuff that has happened under the RADAR, has has so for several years. As we have been questioning prices, the non-recorded market has lead this market, but candidly, the cars have also lead the "offered at the time" type cars. Great stuff always brings good money. Cars like this don't have to be advertised. They simply have to have a few phone calls made and they are gone, almost always at full asking price. I can say I passed on one of these cars ( a car I specifically want to own), as I thought the asking price was too high and, financially I couldn't make it make sense, it was sold at more than asking price and is now gone. It will most likely not come to market for MANY YEARS....IF EVER....
