This is my first post and an attempt at finding out if anyone has had problems with this particular dealer. I have used Carl over the years for various 348, 355's and 360's, both for servicing, repair and sourcing parts, and have had different results each time including my current "experience". Has anyone else had problems? and if so how did you resolve them? People who know Carl will know what i mean when i say its difficult to discuss the problem as you would do with anyone else. Apologies for sounding so cryptic but I am not looking to badmouth VERDI(NOT YET ANYWAY), merely trying to guage opinion and find solutions. If nothing else hopefully others will gain information on wether this is the company to use for their pride and joy.
No experience myself but read a whole load of valuable information if you get my drift Best to take a severe hand brake turn if he is in you're sights! Try a search on this site.
I've dealt with Verdi's and Karl for just over 3 years now, bought and sold 2 cars through him and let him do all the maintenance associated with my Fcars. He is a wealth of information, provides great after sales service, straight to the point and no BS approach which some people don't like. I'm intrigued by your post as it suggests you've had a bad experience. If that is the case then it would be worth sharing and giving Verdi's the opportunity respond.
Haven't heard anything negative about either Karl Verdi or his Business. most of the people who post on this board who have used him a very very happy with the results of his work
My understanding is the two commonest things said about him is that (on sales) he does not reply to emails and (on service) whenever you think your car should be ready it won't be
I would not think that these 2 points are unique to Verdis - a little while back there was a thread regarding Foskers (Sales) and they too were not the best at replying to e-mails. I am sure Sales people prefer to speak face-to-face - failing that over the phone. It's a different matter if a dealer does not respond to phone calls. But neither of these points reflect on the quality of the work carried out.
I think Karl and his guys at Verdi's are great. I did not buy my car from them but they are always willing to give advice when asked. I suspect that the biggest issue is that they are victims of their own success, always busy and always trying to do their best for their customers. Karl is a straight speaking kind of guy, an approach i personally appreciate but i guess some people don't take kindly to it. Use Verdi's if you want good advice and experienced technicians, stick to the more expensive main dealers if you want a shiny showroom and people who just agree with you because you are paying.
If you have a prob with karl ,and i have had one or two, i've always found it easier to pick up the phone and discuss them instead of posting anonomously on an internet forum.FWIW, Verdi have looked after me very well and i have no hesitation recommending them to others.
Karl is honest and helpful, I think the average 2 month wait for a service booking says it all..................
Hi, A little light reading.. but please read, I had my "experience" with someone that claimed to be a specialist (Rosso Corsa), they wasted my time, my patience and all my money! I have no kind words for that! Received such a crap job, dented my car and charged me "thinking" time.. not something you'd expect from someone that claims to be a specialist. They had my car for 6 months to try and sort out the running problems.. Car broke down with the same problems 3 days after collecting it from Rosso Corsa, got in contact with Verdi and he helped put my mind at rest, even suggested things to try on my own and then to come down.. dragged it down there scared that what extra costs could be.. Verdi was professional, he was quick and he had it sorted in just under 1 hour.. crazy me for taking it anywhere else. No Trolls here whatever they are, just too busy with employment to get back earlier. Someone here just hit the nail on the head. What the hell do you do when you are ignored? Its not the first time its happened and I know I am not the only one affected. Ignored is no big deal if say I am trying to book a service/repair etc. No answer just means go elsewhere or wait. Ignored when, for example you have been sold faulty goods or have had a bad repair is more serious. And before you say he just sounds like a moaner whos never satisfied; the problems I have had have been accepted and confirmed as justified by the company themselves, GREAT, but then nothing, guess what, just total avoidance! WHAT DO YOU DO? I HAVE CERTAINLY TRIED COMMUNICATION. Believe me this forum is certainly not my first choice to solve a problem. Some people here obviously have clout or connections with the company, you tell me. I am not trying to stay anonymous and I am more than happy for the company to prove me wrong on this forum. I do think in the interest of privacy (Verdis mostly, I am personally happy to divulge all) the exact details should be kept between us. The technicalities of this web site are not familiar to me. Is there a way for VERDI to know who I am? although its a miracle if he doesnt.
I have friends that I have worked with abroad, one of them has a Ferrari as well, he asked me one time "what does Verdi's look like" so its pretty much a worldwide name not just reserved to UK. the best business is by word of mouth... Verdi = A+++ Highly recommended!
Not too sure mate, everytime I called Verdi's one of the guys has always got back to me, might just be an isolated case. He does put a lot of graft and focus in everything he does. If someone is that good.. they are always hard to get hold of.. cos its not only you that needs them. An opinion and something I learned in my line of work. V.
Aplogies for implying you are a troll but please let me explain why I made that assumption apart from it being your first post. I was contacted by Karl today after he saw the post and he does not know who you are. He couldn't link the post with any of his exisitng customers which obviously makes it difficult for him to work out what the problem is. I'd suggest ringing Karl tomorrow and mentioning the post and I know he wants to talk through your concerns.
Mate, give him a call again, it might have just been at an inconvenient time.. he is one of the good guys!
Contacted by Karl today. I have been assured the problem will be resolved by Monday, I hope so. I will let you know the final outcome. Thanks to those above who have assisted in the matter.
Karl and the Verdi Ferrari family have always helped me out when I needed it. I have sold 2 Ferraris via them and have also bought from them. I have also had the experience of dealing with some of the most unprofessional people in the business who have the habit of changing extra parts on my car without informing me and then slapping a huge bill in my face. Karl from my experience is one of the most professional and well respected people in the business and I enjoy the experience from buying from him. I highly recommend him. When you give your Ferrari to him for any reason you can relax and sleep well.
So this couldn't have been done by calling Karl DIRECTLY? Another scary case of an Inde's hard earned rep being trashed because of , from what i read, a misunderstanding
From what I have read so far. The next Ferrari I buy I will look to Verdi first. I cannot believe how much praise they have had on here. begybaby, I hope you get your problem sorted out.
Yep thats right. Go to Karl first and see what he can do for you. If you should have any questions etc. In times of situations like being overcharged by another dealer I turned to Karl for help and advice and he was always there for me.
I'm talking to him about buying the Dino that he has for sale. He also has my 328 for sale. I find him an honest guy, always comes back to you, willing to help out, a VERY sucessfull businessman! Just a great guy to do business with.
