1995 355 Spider 6520 Miles Major done 04/2004 @ 4K Miles (I know its almost 1 year overdue for another) Rosso Corsa/Tan/Tan Carpet/Black Top Missing all 3 alarm remotes Has sticky black plastic Interior leather looks good on dash, one corner of the airbag cover is bent up a bit Looks to be in very good shape, few rock chips and a little bolster wear, but nothing major... Going to get a PPI, but whats the max I should pay for this? I know I need to get the major done basically right away. 85K.... Wow! with the things you said needed to be done, I would have said 55k to 60k. Plus it's missing the cover on the passenger side of the engine....
Don't think 95's came with the factory alarm so it may be a case of not missing the remotes--they weren't there to begin with... I agree along the lines of the others here with regards to pricing. But would not waste money on a PPI unless you and the dealer are on pace with a price... Your thinking $62K and the dealer is thinking $78K----Big difference to overcome when negotiating... I would get some type of roundabout number you both can agree on PENDING the PPI results....
thats not beat to hell, with a ton of miles on it? Seems like even a lot higher mileage cars are still in the mid to high $70's. I did get him down to $74,500, but he said that was it, so doubtful that he will go below $70. Wont a through PPI find most of the issues? My guy is pretty good (worked in the ferrari factory for 25 years) and is currently at homestead working for one of the challange teams. Said he would do a leak down and oil analysis to check what is wearing... I have had a 360 for two years, and its been great, always wanted a 355 so want to add that too but am in NO rush to do it... This just looks nice because its low miles and in nice shape.
Red/tan Titanium/tan (really like this combo) TDF/tan (but I am hesitant because my 360 is TDF/Cuio) No dark carpets, and no black interiors. Probably want a stick since my 360 is F1, and from what I have heard F1 is not great in the 355... Not looking to drop more than $75, and would like to be well below that if possible. From what I have read, 95 is good because a little extra HP, and it should also be cheaper...
http://www.lamborghinilasvegas.com/mainpages/carpage.php?cid=190A Here is a link of the one I was thinking of here in town, but it's an F1 not sure what the price is and I havn't seen it in person.
This one is TDF and is also in town, but it too is an F1... http://www.luxurymotors.com/inv/search/inventory_detail.aspx?vehicle_id=18318&start_year=1950&end_year=2009&start_price=&end_price=&model=&make=Ferrari&color=&mileage=0&lesst=&dealer_id=&dealer=--+All+Locations+--&type=&keywords=
My mechanic has told me he has more problems and issues with 360 F1's than 355 F1's by 10 fold......He tells me the 355 F1 cars are very reliable.....
I just paid 66k for a 95 355 with a fresh belt service and valve guides done. Mileage was a little higher at 17k though........... My car is immaculate, no shrinking leather or interior problems. Did re-do the HVAC panel. So I would say.....................
Pending a successful PPI, I'd say $70k is fair to both parties. BTW, I've NEVER heard a 355 F1 is less problematic than a 360 F1........just the opposite in fact.
When I said the F1 was not good on the 355, I was thinking more the smoothness of the shifting, not the reliability factor... Even my 360 can be really bad in first gear.
I have a 360F1 and 355F1. They both work great and I have never had a problem with either system. The 355F1 is an awsome system, very smooth in traffic and very fast shifting in sport mode, in fact I think it is better in heavy traffic than the 360!! Most peaple who knock the F1 in any car may not even own one, you still have to drive it like a stick!
Ive said this many times before......If the drivers seat bolsters is worn at 6,500miles then I would keep looking. The milage on many of these cars has been played with.
I am a young guy and contort myself when I get in, as to not wear the bolster, however I see lots of old guys, slide their ass down it every time they get in and out, doing that a few hundred times will wear out the leather regardless of how many miles you actually put on the car. You also could be right on mileage tampering, but for a car with service records and carfax, its gota be hard to pull off...
+1 I bought my 355 from a "big guy" and I don't think he took too much care getting in and out of the car. My car has 28k on it now, and the seat is slightly worn.
No way Ray, it aint worth 75K..Dang, I am a Poet and don't even know it Seriously, you coulod do way better. Just an observation: You seem really determined on this car. Trust me for 75K let it go and there are several out there. PM me and I will share with you 2 cars. 1997 with 6K, Red/Tan, 30K completed. $79K 1995 with 6K Red tan 30K done 3 years ago at FO Scottsdale. $75K Both spiders of course.
