Hi, On the rear of my fuse/relay board is a relay which appears not to do anything! Tony L was round helping me with running problems on my car and we noticed that mine has this relay which is obviously OEM beacause it is a Lucas like those on the front of the board and also that the two wires going to it (blue/white and white/red) plus the earth/neutral(black) are part of the original loom/harness. We tend to think that it may be something to do with the charging circuit as it clicks in after you start the car but disconnect it and nothing changes. Both mine and Tony's cars are 1974 models and his does not have the relay or the wiring! Any ideas. The photo's show the front of the board and then the rear where this relay is mounted. Relay switch for the alternator ('Gen') dashboard light? The white/red wire connecte to terminal 87 would switch ground to the dashboard bulb, the azzurro/white one connected to terminal 85 (relay coil) should come from the alternator.
Thanks Adrian.............I should have known that you would know the answer.........More Pymms at Goodwood? Graham.
Sir, i think that would be most becoming! Has your Dino been build after Tony's? That would be interesting as it helps to better understand when exactly the alternator light has been introduced in non US Dinos in '74.
Adrian, Tony may chime in but i think his car may be just a couple of months older than mine........which was built 27/11/73 and registered in January 74. Graham
Adrian My Dino 246gt chairs and flairs was 1st registered on the 21st Sept 1973. i believe it was Marenello demostrator car as they are 1st owner. Exact build date unknown
