This European regulation actually originates from Italian regulation - Italian cars (including Ferrari) had this already in the '60s and '70s when German and French cars did not (I think it was only standardised in Europe in the 90s). A good way to hide it is to integrate in the external rear view mirrors.
It's the only one though (the Roma has it for example) and I struggle to understand how that works in the Stradale. Well... Image Unavailable, Please Login
These are side lights for the US market, not blinkers. Regarding the SF90 I did not see it in real life and am not able to tell from the pictures, but could they have the blinker repeaters in the mirrors?
On my Portofino,I had those removed and the black plastic fender vents painted body color. And on the trunk lid,no more emblems and goodbye to that ugly lump that comes on the USA cars.
Yeap, you are right. You got me intrigued now and I started looking into it. Seems like some cars had them, some didn't. Some of those that didn't, had their front fascia indicators wrapped around the side, so they could be visible from that angle too. I guess there was no legislation regarding side indicators.
What color were your fender vents before? I thought they were always body color unless you have the Handling Speciale package, when they are silver or matte silver.
They were fitted to all RHD Daytona's, and every RHD production Ferrari since, things don't change much! Image Unavailable, Please Login
