I have been a Ferrari-man now for almost a month and Im loving it! But as a "supercar" newbee I have two questions: Whats up with supercar clutch? Whats up with supercar battery?

I have had tons of sportcars like Corvette, Porsche etc but no supercars. I have never had to change a clutch in my life... Can someone enlighten me why supercars clutch have so short lifetime?!

And whats up with the battery? I havent even owned a Ctek before i got my Ferrari. Now it looks like in gonna need it... Why the heck do supercars eat battery?!

Sorry if my english is not perfect, Im a bloody Swede. Well now Im gonna take the horse out on a fantastic drive in the evening sun... ;) :)

'Supercars' tend to go through batteries because of non use and neglectful owners. This can be fixed by normal usage and or a battery tender.

As far as the clutch goes, some get killed by over slipping by owners or poor design, or poor materials. I had my clutch relined at 14,000 miles with Kevlar. It should last the life of the car with proper technique.

If you drive them properly, clutches should last a very, very long time. I've had several ferraris and also don't know why people in the exotic community tend to burn through clutches. Launching? Early F1's sucked. But a 599 clutch if driven properly should last you a lifetime.

I think Ferraris are also prone to excessive draw, drain quickly sitting. I know they also, least the ones I've owned, don't have the nanny to sleep if a driver door is left ajar all night for instance. Why does a Ferrari need a tender? It just does :)

Clutches don't last because of poor driving habits. I've 10 Ferraris and never wore out a clutch.

    The battery thing is ridiculous.
