here is an idea: One of the FChat sponsors, Cavallino Models, will take your original silver 360 key and paint it "red" or color code it to your car. I had mine done months ago and it still looks great. The best $25 I spent!

Personally, i culd care less if it was rubber. As long as it operates the ignition.

When driving Henry's 512m(#101339), I expected something bulky like shown above, but it had this small black tab with the prancing pony, with a hinge that folded in half, it was the coolest Ferrari key to carry in the pocket. I never asked him if that was a custom key or something from the factory.

I think the "Big Key" trend is kind of comical.

Kinda like those laughably big pretentious Baldwin door keys.

Pretty soon keys will be so big it will be like the one for the toilet at a gas station with the truck wheel chained to it.

Shouldn't they be getting smaller so they don't make a big (second) lump in your pants? Except for pulling the key out early so everyone at the toupee shop can see it, what's the purpose?

No offense intended to any big-key-bald-guys. :)

That's funny... when I worked as a doorman/valet at a 4 star hotel we would pass time by making bets about the size of people's keyrings/# of keys, before they got out of their cars. Later it evolved into whether or not they would have one of those big ass Baldwin keys on it. :)

I had a roommate in college (we were sharing a house off-campus) who was looking for a business loan (he had just graduated). So he went to the local bank and started chatting with the bank manager about getting a loan. They were getting along well, but nothing had been settled. However at one point the manager says, "I can tell how important a customer is by how many keys he carries on his chain. The fewer the keys and the more "valuable" the keys, the more important the customer is." So my roommate pulls his keyring out of his pocket and shows the manager one Mercedes key on it. My roommate got the loan.

What the bank manager didn't know was that, aside from the old-clunker Mercedes which had been given to my roommate by his family, he didn't even have a house key because there was so little of any value in the house, we never bothered with a lock! (My roommate went on to build a multi-million$ business starting with that loan, so the manager never regretted his decision; but perhaps if it had been a Ferrari key on that ring, the manager would have loaned him even more :) ).

I had to buy a replacement NSX key once and the thing cost me nearly $100 for a blank. To make matters worse, Acura refused to cut the damn thing unless I would hold them harmless. The key remained blank and I gave it to the new owner when I sold the car.
