I am a serious buyer looking for a 2008 Superleggera. I have filled out the "for more information" e mail request on the respective websites for 3 Lambo dealers in various parts of the country. I have gotten an automated response from all three saying someone will contact me shortly so I know my e mail went through but after several days I have heard nothing from any of them. I thought these dealers made money by selling cars! Don't they realize that this non-responsiveness just goes to "turn off" prospective customers? Thanks for listening. Rant off.

I think the same applies to most car dealers, not just Lambo. Go ahead, try it.

Since Lambos are no ordinary cars, then perhaps they want you to grovel for the chance to buy one.

Not most dealerships but most assume if you are serious you will take time to call or make an appointment to drop in and look around....However some do not want to have anything to do with you until you put a check in their hand. All the more reason to find a good dealer and give them all your business.

fyi-Roy also has great relationships with dealers so he can get you a rock bottom price on brand new cars as well.

I would love to have competition like car dealers. All you have to do is be up front, honest, and use common sense and you win. I guess that's asking too much from dealers while it should be the norm. Although it's taken years to establish himself, Roy, seemingly has an easy job.

Italiancars--- I usually spend my evenings searching all the various websites to find/see cars. These dealers have sections on their websites to "click on" to express interest after hours. If they can't simply follow through with a response as promised, why should I want to do business with them. In todays electronic world, not returning an e mail message (prompted by their own website) is analagous to not returning phone calls in yesterdays world. Roy responded to my initial e mail in a matter of minutes and spent a considerable amount of his time this afternoon offering me lots of information about Gallardos. Long distance car deals are all about trust. Sorry, but these dealers are competing for the buyer's business and I think it is appropriate to judge them based on what they promise and subsequently deliver. In my business, if I did not return e mails or phone calls as promised my competition would bury me. Maybe some of these dealers will see this and "wake up".

That's how we did things back in the old days, worked pretty damn well, and guess what... IT STILL DOES!

Forget the e-mailing and texting BS, and use your phone the way it should be used, to talk to someone one on one using your VOICE!

If a business solicits customers via email and offers them the option to click for more information, why should the customer expect anything else?

I just bought another mercedes, i clicked on three dealers, the most responsive got my business.

It is a web enabled world, which is why i am typing this and not using a phone.

Your car is stunning in that color...and must be one of the lowest mile SL in the country.

    Does it have CCB?

    Is it still under warranty?

If a sale does not work out for you, contact me..I can put you in touch with a few people looking for an SL..

As an update to this thread---- Within a few days of posting my original post I made a deal to puchase a Gallardo from Roy at Cat's Exotics. The car was delivered to my door about an hour ago and it was exactly as represented. I am happy. To all those dealers that ignored my requests for info on cars they had advertised--- we have a saying in the racing world "You snooze you lose". Thanks Roy!
