That is truly AWESOME, AWESOME. I love the dark roof.

I'm waiting for the spider but I'm thinking of going with Rosso Fiorano for the exterior and black and cuio for the interior

Anyone know when the 458 (and GTO for that matter) will be on the 'proper' configurator?

I was out at the factory last week to see the Atelier to spec my 458. This is the configurator they now use at the factory so the "old" one will probably not be updated.

Tillman, that Green/Brown looks awesome. and I bet you wouldn't see too many in that color either.

bdelp, I like the sounds of a black and cuio interior.

and I love the interior on FerRrari's config, its simple but tastful, and really (to me) says "I'm a true sportscar, not a sports-luxury car"

overall, great stuff guys, I like all the different styles. And some of them are making me second guess my choices.... lol

EDIT: just realized there is another thread like this one. My bad...

    Thanks.

    :)

My configuration was fairly simple, Nero, 20'' wheels, yellow calipers, scuderia shields, rosso interior with black special contrasting stitching...

Configurator crashed near the end lol

I cant decide which looks better on the Bianco Avus (white) exterior, yellow calipers or red ones.

If you have shields, yellow callipers look best IMHO.

Dare to be different....I like it! And I think that color may be one of the few colors that work with that style of wheel. I actually see white wheels looking really good on that color.

    Love it!

That is how I would configure the 458 as well.

I just used the snipping tool in Windows 7 (also in Vista) to grab a screen shot. If you have XP you can use Alt+PrtScrn to take a screen shot, paste it into Paint and edit there. If you have a Mac, I don't know.

Dark roof breaks up the beautiful profile of the car. All those swooping lines were designed to work in harmony and the dark roof just cuts straight through the middle of all that.

I agree. Just because a car has a natural break between the lower body and the greenhouse (e.g., the 599), doesn't necessarily mean that it should be two-toned. The new 599 GTO has a black or dark grey roof, I imagine to distinguish it from "lesser"599s, but the two-tone color treatment doesn't do justice to the car's design, in my opinion. Fred

You are incorrect in that assumption. The original Pinifarina sketches for the 458 show a black roof was considered as part of the design very early on.

And then discarded for the final design...
