Beef jerky? Venison jerky? Turkey jerky? Slim Jims? O Boy Oberto pepperoni sticks?
Vienna sausages? Sardines right out of the can? Pork rinds? Kippers? Anchovies on
crackers? Pemmican? I'm sure there's LOTS of others....

I'm partial to O Boy Oberto pepperoni sticks... but they are mostly a WA OR ID thing...
not much distribution elsewhere. I also like jerky - going to start making my own
    beef jerky soon.

So what's your favorite meat snack?

There is a place in Texas called Woodys smokehouse that is on the way to Houston from Dallas. They have every kind of meat snack known to man. My personal favorite is the Elk Sausage with cheese. Absolutely delicious!

    I guess you're talking portable and non-perishable...right?

    If not: seared tuna

    If so: turkey jerkey

There's a post in Silver Subscribed right now about making your own jerkey.

You have to be careful with a lot of those processed mystery meat nitrate loaded gas station meat snax. Those chemicals don't make the to body happy over time if ingested regularly.

    I've been enjoying Johnsonville "Deli-Bites"
8 oz pkg needs no refrigeration until after opening. I think they are Johnsonville's best product.

Pounded sirloin, breaded and pan fried. Makes for a good sandwich the next day as well, or sliced up on a salad.

In a thread regarding "cravings" i had the same answer - SOO brand Beef Jerky, with anchovy fish sauce added. Sounds awful but when a member from the Silver forum sent me about a pound of it; it took just a few days to get through. Good thing the closest place that sells it is 45 mins away.

The 2 year old aged prosciutto di parma at my local Italian specialty store, that the owner himself will only slice.

I always liked home made venison jerky to take hunting.

Circle of life and all that.

Only problem is after a couple of days your farts start smelling like venison jerky and the deer don't come around. Or anyone else for that matter....

While not perfect, Ostrim is good for a quick shot of protein!
