Out of the models in the 512 and Testarossa series, which one is your favorite? I would take the 512 M everytime. I like how it has open headlights and not pop up. Although I love circular rear lights on Ferraris, they seems a bit awkward on the 512 M. Is still love the car. Plus it has more power, and newer than the others. The cheese grater intakes are a bit past their time, but still look good. I would do a poll, but I'm not suscribed :(

    512 TR. Hands down.

And there are a lot of people who agree with me.

The Testarossa is an 80s car. Heck -- the Testarossa IS the 80s! Accordingly, the fixed lights just don't belong on the car. The car needs those pop-up headlights. Without them, the car just looks akward.

Oh, and the front bumper. As a product of the 80s, the Testarossa is a car of angles and sharp edges. Accordingly, the round edges of the F512M simply do not belong. The designers in 1994 simply inserted contemporary styling fashion onto the car. They went overboard, tarnishing an already beautiful design.

My interpretation of the literature is that the F512M is not so much an improved car over the 512TR as the 512TR was over the original Testarossa.

I love the 512TR, even if it is inferior to the F512M in performance. If the F512M looked like the 512TR, then the F512M would be the step-up Ferrari to which I hold all my aspiration. But it's not. The 512TR is my dream :)

These are just my opinions

The M w/ tr rims and clear indicator lights. Can't stand the yellow turn signals!

my choice would be an 86 euro TR. It's unencumbered by US regulations and has an absolutely nasty sounding exhaust runoff at full throttle.... wicked sounding car.... plus it's a pure GT as Enzo intended. As with several Ferrari's I've been priveleged enough to experience, Ferrari usually gets it right the first time out. Yes, improvements are welcome as is more power, but I think that they somehow dilute the overall experience when they try to fix what ain't broken.

I have a 1992 512TR so my choice is obvious.
512M is nice except that I hate the wheels and the front bonnet air intake.
However, the tail lights are great on 512M IMO.
But all in all 512TR is one of the best looking Ferraris ever!!

I know I am in the minority, but I like the asymmetry of a single-mirror TR. Red, Silver, White, Blue, Black, they all look great on these cars.

K&N on the intake, Tubi on the exhaust. Will cause goosebumps on full throttle over 4k.

I like the "original" Testarossa the best, although the 512 TR and M are much improved. On looks, the Testarossa does it for me, I never liked the M, most of the design changes don't fit the overall body style.

I prefer the 512 TR. I have always been a fan of the round taillights, but the four on the back of the 512M always seemed to be tacked on.

With the car being so square back there, the round lights reminded me of the proverbial square peg/round hole situation. And the car is so wide there should have been six lights, not four.

Frankly, I prefer the 512BB series to any of the TRs!

I am on my 3rd boxer in the past 17 years...there is no other 512 that compares. In my biased opinion, all TR's suffer from wide hip sydrome, you fear that your going to hit something with your hip, or the wide rear of car.
I have only driven one once so I truly have only my opinion. The Boxer is a smaller more tossable version although less powerful.
    Here's a shot of mine.

This is easy, 512TR hands down. Those 5 spoke wheels are sultry. Best interpretation was our F chatter, Wildwarriors, Yellow 512TR, looked orgasmic standing still.

    --The orig TR--way too 80s.

--512M--one of the ugliest ferrari wheels. Non pop up headlights doesn't work with the model, imho. Over designed.

512TR in silver. Very rare colour but it really brings out the lines in that car. To me the 512M is awful. Just my opinion.

My favourite is the 512TR. In my opinion, the 512M looks a little too wild. The 512TR has very clean lines which give it an agressive yet classy look.

Now if only I could afford one...

By the way I'd love to see one in TdF Blue. Does anybody know if it was made in TdF blue? If so, can anybody provide pics?

Round lights on the back of the "M" don't work for me. They dont fit the squared off, horizontal lines of the car.

The "M" wheels remind me of kiddie pinwheels. How could a design group let that happen? Way to blingy too.

The "wide hip" syndrome is what makes the car look menacing and muscular.

..................sure, I'll take that one........................and the yellow one too please.

Put a Tubi on a 512 M and you won't believe your ears. I did a drive a couple of years ago with one and I refused to drive up front of the group. I just LOVED the sound.

How many of each car were made: the 512 M, 512 TR, and testarossa? Just an educated guess, but I believe the M was the least produced.

Put a fuchs or a capristo on and its even better than the tubi

Got to agree on the wheels should have the tr wheelks on as when the car was new they were a no cost option

Aesthetically, I like the earlier single or double "flag" mirrored cars. I'd take one in black, yellow or pozzi blue. Performance wise, I like the 512 M stats.

I guess a 512TR would be a good compromise. Its kinda similar to the question of which Countach one prefers WRT looks vs. performance.

512TR anyday, it has the classic testarossa style, but the modifications ferrari made bring it more up to date.. personally the F512M wasnt for me, i disliked the wheels, and the front looked like a match of 355 and f50, i never went much on it. So i think a yellow 512TR with Challenge stradale rims with a tubi exhaust system... i reckon it would be awesome.. also if anyone has any pics of a combination simmilar to this, post them
