What is the secret (if any) for removing the center emblem from a 308/328 wheel without breaking it? Ferrari probably makes a $500 tool for the operation but what does the average guy do? Thanks.

It's simple. Just remove the wheel and take a wooden handle from a hammer and insert it from the back and push it out.

    Robbie,
If your wheel is anything like the one on my '79, the horn is the yellow Ferrari button, surrounded by a black plastic trim ring, yes? If that's the case, that trim ring just pops right out - you can either attempt it with a fine flathead screwdriver, or remove the 6 Allen head screws to take the whole wheel off and then pop it off from behind. If you're still having trouble, report back - we'll certainly figure this one out for you.

i pop them out from the back with the blunt end of the handle on a large plastic screw driver. prying them out of the wheel from the front seems to make them loose. i have to order a few new ones for my recently accquired GTB. the old ones i think are original and really faded. ebware there are now 2 styles and the other ones look silly in my opinion. i ended up with a few of the silly ones and gave them away.

Thanks for the input ... I'll proceed with caution. Aaron .. sorry I did not state that the wheel was not the steering one but the rolling ones. I'm getting them refurbished to erase the curb scuffs from the prior owner and I want to remove the center emblem to prevent the wheel guys from experimenting on removal techniques. Who sells the correct ones should I screw up?

Doh! Sorry 'bout that. As for who sells the correct ones, I don't know off-hand, but I'd be willing to bet a decent amount that you'll be able to find them at:

    Ricambi America (www.ricambiamerica.com)
    Superformance UK (www.superformance.co.uk)
    Dennis McCann (www.allferrariparts.com)

...but try Ricambi first, as they are a forum sponsor, and Daniel is a GREAT customer serviceman.

    Best regards -

yes, you are correct. the "silly" ones may be correct for later 4res, but none of mine are newer than 25-30 years old. Ricambi has the centers for $25.00 each.

eBay! I just bought a set for less than a hundred bucks, including shipping.
