I still have the original Chromodora 14" wheels on my dino, and there are virtually no high performance tires made for 14" wheels any more. Best I can do is Pirelli P-4000 Super Touring. Not that I need to go over 120 mph in this car, but I would like to go to a 16" wheel and lower profile tires.

Has anyone done this upgrade? If so, what wheel/tire combo works best?

Will 308 wheels fit, and if so, do I need spacers, modifications, etc.?

I don't know what is involved (or if they just bolt on), but I have seen two 246's with 16" QV wheels on them and they look terrific! Looks "correct" and appropriate to the car. Highly recommend investigating this further....

16" 308 QV wheels fit with no mods. 205/55 front, 225/50 rear. Stay away from 328 wheels.

Make sure you check the lower rear chassis rail, around the wishbone pick ups. The extra loading and maybe corrosion will mean trouble.

Look at a 328, and fit strengthening brackets the same. Same deal for all 308 carb cars, many cracks around the pick up boss and the engine cross rail.

What do you mean by extra loading?
