Can anyone advise the specific advantages/disadvantages for Hill Engineering's two different wheel spacer methods? One type of spacer bolts to the hub, then the wheel bolts into the spacer using OEM original bolts. The second type of spacer just sits against the hub, then a longer bolt goes through the wheel and the spacer, ultimately bolting into the hub.

Is one better than the other? Why?

    (FYI, I'm considering 15mm front; 30mm rear on a 1990 348ts)

If you notice on their web site, you use the longer bolts on the thin spacers and the other method on the thicker spacers. I have them and they work great. The 15mm spacer does not have enough thickness to mount with the short bolts and to conceal them and the thickness needed for the wheel bolt inserts is not there either. In addition to the better looks, the car drives much better.

There's quite a few discussions about this many moons ago. Here's one.

I have 15mm spacers on the back simply because i want the rear to be close to the factory Speciale spec. with the Challenge wheels. The handling improved noticably.

I am partial about the front. There's got to be a reason why it wasnt increased from the factory.

If you want my opinion .. get a set of rear spider wheels and do not forget the longer bolts.

    Good luck
