    Hello Everyone,

Is there a difference in strength between the three wheels? In other words, if I drive over a pothole which of these wheels is more likely to survive? The reason I'm asking is that I love the look of the HGTE wheel but if it is more fragile than the challenge wheel, I won't consider it.

GTO rims are forged, so the strongest rims of that 3.
The bed of the 2 piece HGTE rims should be rolled, so also a compressed structure.
    Challange (Monolitic) rims are casted.

    So
    1 - GTO
    2 - HGTE
    3 - Challenge

    But one thing
GTO are the lightest, so the strength decreases for the weight.

For me the idea of the silver HGTE wheels with my silver calipers makes sense. When I've seen HGTEs in black with silver calipers I've always thought it was a crisp look.

    Gents,

    The HGTE wheels are forged.

I know from experience it's fairly strong because I've hit several bumps and potholes at speed enough to "jar fillings in my teeth", yet so far the wheels remain straight and true. Haven't had a need for wheel balancing since the PZero tires were mounted 4+ years ago. (Knock on wood!) ;) They'll soon be replaced by Michelin PS4's.

If the wheels had been bent after hitting those obstructions, the resulting vibrations of even a slightly bent wheel would have been felt either at the steering wheel (front bent wheel) or 'on the seat of my pants' (rear bent wheel) or both. Likewise, an unbalanced wheel creates uneven pattern wear, eg, cupping or highs/lows on tire treads, that can also cause tire humming or howling depending on tread uneven wear severity.

I like the HGTE wheels best of the three as well.
