Looks great! See you at the next OCD support group meeting...

While your in there, consider replacing your 20 year old rubber brake hoses.

Well........ OK, here goes. A summary of about 4 hours per wheel well.

Heavy spray of Vinylex and soft brushes for water solubles and loosening things up. Wipe up and clean off.

Acetone - Sparingly with bronze wire and toothbrushes where I'm willing to try and remove oversprays from metal parts.

Paint Thinner & brushes on heavier grease deposits.

WD40 - Liberal and rubbed off well with rags and paper towels.

Spray on Detailer - Brake calipers & control arms.

Never Dull Wadding - Any part that needs it.

Flat black paint - As needed on chipped areas.

Supply of scrapers, sandpaper, rags, paper towels, newspaper, bath towels.

Lots of elbow grease - careful not to get it on the car.

Spray on Iron Armor truck bed liner for the wheel well liners after using a drill/wire brush to remove old drips.

A Garage Lift, Background Music, and a Free Day complete the formula.

    I'm sure I forgot something. :)

My therapy is progressing well so far.

Actually, it was my support group that recommended the F355. You will never run out of things to do, and it will keep you from being able to do anything else! :)

Is your garage where the lift is heated?

No Neil. But it's insulated and attached to the house on two Sudra. I use a propane space heater and I can get it toasty quickly

Great list of materials. I have never used vinylex for cleaning so you always can learn something new. Good old WD-40, always works good as a cleaner. Great looking job!

Id like to see how the liners look after you use the Iron Armor spray. They are just raw plastic OEM right?

All six OEM pieces are fiberglass. Mine had already been sprayed with something while mounted in the car, and required a lot of clean up prep work one way or another.

I'm not a big fan of all today's sprays called undercoating. They are all "rubberized". I prefer something that dries a lot harder and durable. I've never used this product before and am very pleased with the result.

Since I sprayed them only for color coverage and not as thick as you would a truck bed, they are not as textured as they may look in the pictures. You can still read the part numbers. Anyway, here they are. As always, opinions may vary.

As a conclusion to this series:

A month on the lift working on this car and few can see anything I did. So, .... What did I actually get out of this extreme detailing? Well, this was not so much a detailing as a first in 19 years full review of everything on the car. What I really got out of this exercise besides self satisfaction was:

    1. I got to touch every accessible part on the car, get familiar with it, and assess its current condition. Learn how to get to it the next time I need to.

    2. Along the way in the process I put in New Tires, New Battery, Maintenance Charge System.

    3. Clean, Touch Up Paint, and Misc Repairs to make everything look as new as possible.

    4. So along with the engine out done last Oct, everything on the new toy is now refreshed. I think "she's" feeling pretty good about herself. I hope it doesn't go to her head.

--------- Man, Love that sound over 6,000 - The F355 is a fantastic car!!!

I think I need to go out and rev it some more.

Nice work, JR. I'll be doing my wheel liners someday like yours.

Thanks, I think the hours were well worth it. When it comes to the Wheel Liners, they only take about 15 min a side to spray all six, but it took about 8 hours to prep them properly. I bought 4 cans of the spray at Harbor Freight, but you only need 3.

Now that the liner spray has hardened up thoroughly, I like them even better.
