Hi All, Looking to buy a set of 16" wheels in the original style to suit my 1976 308 GTB. Any leads will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Russet05
Options are limited for reproduction 16's. Super performance is about it I believe. They are very heavy and the shape isn't perfect. Originals are rare and expensive; but you sometimes see them pop on eBay. Eurospares and other breakers may be a possibility.
That's what I reckon too. I feel my car drives better on the 14s than the 16s, but it's possibly a hard comparison to make because, obviously, the tyres are different too. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There is a set on Ebay now.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/USED-Set-Repro-16-QV-Wheels-Goodyear-Eagle-GT-Tires-4-All-Ferrari-308s-/190611401062?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2c61532966#ht_500wt_689
At 695 pound (Approx A$1,070) I'd buy a new set from superformance. http://www.superformance.co.uk/308_a.htm
Yes, and I had to machine my front wheels. They don't fit snuggly on the front hubs. I had mine machined out and bushed and re machined to be a nice snug fit, mainly because I only use mine for track work so high speed so don't want any out of balance. You can pull them up straight providing you are even doing the wheel nuts up.
I can't help with the wheels, just keep looking on ebay and the Superformance ones are at least in the spirit of the originals. Would anyone be interested in breaking up a set of Superformance wheels? I would like one single 16 X 7. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Carl, if you need a wheel in the short term you are more than welcome to use one of mine. They are at Phil's, you'll just need to remove the R tyre and put your tyre on.
Well, that's mighty fine of you Bretty Bunghole. Thank you, but it's OK. The wheel is simply to make a set of 5 wheels, I'd like a matching spare for the Qv. Hmmmm, now I think about it, why don't I just use the set of four you have, and use your tyres, it's not like you'd know right! Amazingly, individual wheels are very cheap, I paid just 130 pounds for a genuine Campagnolo 16 X 7 for the set of genuine wheels I have: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/150696193172?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
