It's called the FCA Penn-Jersey Region Annual Ferrari Fall Festival...This year it is on Sept 18th at the Park Ave Club again in Florham Park. Anyone can go...you just have to register and pay something like 60 bucks. Contact Dave North at [email protected]

A bunch of us meet at my house to drive over together...you should join us.

    Cheers,

    Todd

Thanks Todd, I was actually going to send you a PM. Admission to view the cars is free and the $60 is for the dinner and awards piece?? Thanks for the invite.

Wrong. You MUST pay to get in, even just to view the cars. It does include a nice luncheon, and it's a fun day. But you can't just park in a neighboring lot and walk over to see the cars. A couple of friends tried to stop over last year just to look around and were pointedly told that they had to pay or get out, regardless of the fact that they did not have a car to display and were not interested in the lunch.

I attended last year and paid $20 to view the cars, (i.e., no lunch).

I guess they were applying different standards to different people. My friends showed up and tried to park in the lot below and walk up. Just wanted to take a quick look at the cars, say hi and leave. They were stopped and told they could not park down there and if they wanted in, they had to pay the full amount. Even $20 seems outrageous for people just to come and look around. Most car shows welcome visitors to come and look at the cars. Certainly charging to enter a car in the show and/or to attend the luncheon is expected. But just to come and look?? I expect to see Dave North at Watkins Glen next weekend. I think I'll ask about this issue.

Wow $20 to view! This does nothing to help the image of a typical Ferrari owner.

Well there is a theory to this. Some people that have the cars think that they shouldn't have to pay to display their cars. The theory being that they're the entertainment. Then there's the idea that if you do charge the cars you may get less of them. I don't know how $50 is going to work if it's just a bunch of the same old Ferraris but then I'm pretty jaded. Maybe the general public in an affluent area will go for it.

Show was great in 2003 (I missed 2004)...whether it's worth $60-65 is up for debate. Where else can you see an F40, F50, 275GTB, 288 GTO all in one spot? We were amazed, then the Enzo showed up (when it was THE CAR off all time) and it was wonderful....then the second Enzo....then the thrid....then the fourth...then the fifth. Got a bit long in the tooth... they were like a common chevy by that point :) Anyway, I'm marking the calander- hopefully can make it!

Todd G. and Scott D. ...haven't been on the boards much...wouldn't you know, this is a blocked site at work! The nerve of them....

This picture is only one section of the car show...maybe about 15% of the Ferrari's that were there are captured in this picture!

By the way if you go, you don't want to miss Todd G.'s pad before hand- the drive over as a group is the highlight of the day! Check out this photo- I just realized almost all the cars that went that day in our group have been traded on other cars....Todd's 328 for the 355, Scott's 355 for many many other cars, Bruces Testarossa for a 550, Augustine's 328 for something else (another 328?)...Still have my 911 but itching for a 355 :)

    Well.....you can! :D

And I think if there's a luncheon or awards to be given, then a car entry fee is fine. A fee to be donated to a charity is fine too.

I do think the public should be allowed in free to see the cars & garner support for the marquees & maybe then maybe move their SUV out of the fast lane for an approaching exotic. Elsewise, why would the general public pay to see cars they know nothing about and rarely see? Catch 22?

But then there's La Belle Macchine.

Great pic Andrew...It was this show that put me on a mission to find the grigio alloy colored 355...actually, in your 1st pic you can see the 360 spider that inspired me...That was one of the best shows I was ever at.

    Let's rally the troops gentlemen!

I remember you had the 328 for sale that day! Here's the result of that show....note the 360 in the picture above, then take a look at Todd's car!

Last time I pre-registered, but being as I'm not showing a car I wouldn't think there was any need to "register"- just pay. Can you pay at the door?
