I am surprised by your reply Rob, as Rob Lay announced it on Dec 27th........

It must have been nearly 3 years ago I was at your place?

Nope sorry Nigel, you have misread Robs post. I live in a binary world, on/off true/false, and i analyse everything.

Rob mentions a re-shuffle for fchat and asks for some suggestions for the UK section - nothing about retiring old mods.

Yes i guess it must be three years, the pictures still make me giggle :)

I beg to differ. By coincidence I also live in a binary world, on/off true/false, and i analyse everything too.

Rob said "PM me suggestions for the UK section. we'll leave some experienced current or former mods of UK and then add a couple new ones"

Note his choice of words "we'll leave some". The inference is therefore that some will not be left, hence my original question.

You dont have to beg mate, perhaps best you pm Rob - as i can only read his post in black and white; rather than take any suggested inferences/assumptions.:) I read his post in a completely different way to you, in that the word 'some' referred to experience. Perhaps Rob will clarify his choice of words to you?

Inference and assumptions can often lead to some misguided judgements or views:)

Moderator Logs have a much cleaner interface than they used to. As such, I had a fresh look at an old topic which irked all of us greatly.

I cannot emphasize enough the following; This was not done to besmirch anyone's reputation, nor should it affect anyone's livelihood now or in the future. It is based purely on principle, conduct and responsibility then and now.

As a result; andrewg has been permabanned for not coming clean about editing the infamous "retard" post 3 1/2 years ago.

    what new mods??

You wouldnt be stirring the pot now would you fella?? ;)

I stated my position on the matter on the other thread, but TBH, I'm just happy to see Fchat UK moving again, but remember fellas its as much down to positive input from you guys (ie not daft threads like this ;)) as much as it is input from the current (outgoing? LOL) mods

The new mods that Rob Lay mentioned on Dec 27th, please see above.

Why is this a daft thread? Rob Lay announced there would be some mod changes in the UK so I am simply asking for an upate, i.e. who and when?

To be perfectly honest it is replies like the one you just posted that are killing this place. I asked a perfectly reasonable question that Rob Hudson answered (thanks Rob) and yet still you have to have a go at me. No doubt this post will result in a PM threatening to ban me, or this post will be deleted. :( Grow up Adam, there's a good boy. :)

Well if its an opinion thread, and if this is a community rather than a dictatorship, then opinions do count.

For what its worth, Steve F was absolutely right about the absence of the Moderators from this site, whilst they were happily posting over on CS. Clearly they've fallen out with CS and now prolifically posting over here. Steve however lacks the social grace to make a point without an implied abuse.

Suddenly there’s "firm but fair moderation" allegedly going on. What’s actually going on is the use of a reserve site whilst they settle their differences with those on CS. I’m guessing Steve’s been banned for “taking a pop at the moderators” well he’s actually got a very good point, just poor execution.

I would vote for a change in all the current moderators, I would fully support fan512 who's never stopped posting on this site, and Nick T if he's got access from overseas.

Otherwise we're allowing the use of this site as a fall back position for people who were hasppy to post elsewhere and have come back here as a last resort.

Its my opinion and for someone who's posted more than the moderators here in the last 6 months (possibly not since the refugees returned I might add) I would like to think have a right to state my case.

just in the interests of fairness to Fitzy, I'll treat you the same as I did him last week Nigel, poking the mods with sticks aint big and it aint clever, you have had your fun, one more dig and you will be banned for a week, crystal clear bud?

I really do welcome your input on Ferrarichat, in a positive manner, but ATM I am still moderator on here, and you are neither quick enough or smart enough to take the pizz out of me or the other mods, save it for elsewhere mate, I can smell a wind up from a hundred miles.

Leave the trolling to Fitzy, he's far better at it..;)

    Hi Hole

I personally havent fallen out with CS and indeed never left Fchat (and I'm sure the comm/ mods over on CS would agree) , it just so happened for the last two months i have been opening a new business venture and little moderation has been required here. My 'post' counts have been below normal across all forums - indeed deleting my facebook aswell.

So could you explain a little further your rationale ?

    Rob

    Hello Rob,

It wasn’t aimed at you old chap, You've always been one to take an open view when our opinions have differed.

Indeed to had the good grace to forgive my outburst regarding the egocentric ****.

using moderating status as a way of claiming God like powers just rubs me up the wrong way. Whilst the post count hasn’t been high these last few months, there’s been no in-fighting, no need for bans, just some light hearted posting and a bit of fun. Fitzy has been around, no one felt the need to punitive action.

That was my original issue and the reason I asked Rob Lay to delete my original account, this place shouldn't be run to pander to the ego's of the odd individual and it sticks right in my throat that an absentee moderator turns up, doesn’t answer what I believe to be fair criticism and starts with the big stick again. This place will be poorer because of it.

There is a silent mass of members, I won’t say majority because I don’t know that to be true, but I had a number of PM's (before I deleted my old account) from posters who agreed with me but feared public persecution should they air their views.

No hard feelings Rob, good luck with your business venture, and thanks for asking

Lets not get in a tizzy for nothing. If I’ve learned anything the last 5 years it has been I will never understand all the dynamics and politics of a particular region. What I do know is regions benefit from moderator changes now and then. Mods get burnt out for a thankless volunteer job and new mods sometimes inject a different perspective and enthusiasm. We’re doing this across FerrariChat.com this week, not just UK. tommo, Hazy, and Hud have done a great job considering UK forum isn’t very active to begin with and the background politics. My approach with changes is still the same as in December, I will leave some of the experienced mods on and bring in a new mod too.

I agree, upto a point, Steve will bring life and humour, although he's known for the odd witch hunt which isnt such a good thing...

I would rather you stayed though Rob, as mentioned in my post above, I have found you to be well balanced in terms of the moderating role, something that would seem rare...

    Just an opinion of couse

Adam, in the interest of clarity please show me where I am poking the mods with sticks?

Also to be clear, this is not a "dig" therefore your one week threat ban cannot come into play as it was only to be applied if I made more dig.

My input on FChat in this thread was quite simple - I was following up on Robs post to remove / appoint mods in the UK section. All I wanted was that simple question answerd, which Rob Lay has now done by PM. In response you have accused me of taking the pizz and starting a wind up neither of which is true. After that you insult me by claiming that you are smarter than me, and then accuse me of trolling, again wrong on both counts.

I repeat, I was only trying to find out when the mod changes will take place and what they will be. It appears you have some sort of vendetta against me :(

Steve is definately the man. He has alot of time on his hands, is good fun, is a great problem solver and fantastic at delegation. People also listen to him and will follow his lead.

    just my opinion.
