I've noticed that no matter how I'm driving, what throttle I'm applying or what mode I'm in (sport/race), my valves always open at 4500 rpm. I searched a lot, and can't find a consistent answer. Some people say 3500 rpm, but there's this post by @360trev that says Ferrari experimented (https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/146428765/) and that there may be various maps for various cars. I also found this:

Anyway, I was curious what RPMs your valves open? Also, if I wanted to lower the RPMs where my valves opened the only way I could do that would be with a tune I'm presuming?

Interesting. According to @360trev , the valves can be half open (or perhaps even modulated between fully open and fully closed) via solenoid valve control. I assumed they were either fully open or fully closed.

Mine would vary, depending on throttle position and RPMs. For example, I could go to high RPMs with them on "quiet" setting, so long as I didn't go past 50% throttle (roughly). I got tired of them constantly opening and closing, so I disconnected them.

The valves under ECU control always drove me nuts. Too much on and off. Forza valve controller fixed that. Always open when the switch is down:

That's honestly pretty cool to have it linked up to your dash like that. I had a controller before and took it off, as I like it closed to start and then open as I drive harder.

I'm quite jealous. How did you get it to 3k? Or was it always like that? I'm curious why mine is at 4500.

So if I hit the throttle hard, +50%, it cracks at 3K. If I feather the throttle I can go into the 4k range. Like @BlacktopRacing mentioned, it really depends on the throttle. I just went for a ride and paid attention.

it works well. I can flip the switch up and let the ECU do its thing when I start it early in the morning or if I’m coming home late. Then just flip the switch and leave the valves wide open, which is how I usually leave it 90% of the time. I just have to wire the illumination into that switch and I can call it officially done.
