Oh boy, you and that Senator from Idaho (Larry "wide stance" Craig). What is it with the mountain states? I agree with plugzit - you guys should set up shop here in SoCal. IIRC, SoCal has the highest # of Ferraris anywhere in the world...or so the legend goes.
$15/ft 3n when I last checked in SoCal. What they dont hit you with in shop rent, they pick you clean in taxes and housing last I checked when my sister lived in La Jolla. SoCal's EPA exam on a new start up shop = DOA. Something tells me the local folk would not see humor with the Clampett's moving in next door and the 4 legged lawn ornaments hanging out in the back yard. Kris and I have talked about moving shop locations a couple of months a year but there is always a job I had not yet finished here.
Wait until you get a taste of what we're brewing up on that thing! Got another 2 inches of snow last night...but today it was warm enough to shovel the parking lot in a sweatshirt (34 degrees) and the sun ALMOST came out....finally. Sounded like the building collapsing when the snow and ice melted and slid off the shop roof today. Where are the latest updated pics of this race car, Dave?
Dear Dave, While your nursing those sun burnt feet I've been busy. Lurking in the shadow is the tube frame turbocharged 355 "Black Widow Spider".....it takes NO hostages...... It only weighs approx. 2200lbs so at 200+ mph I need to have the aerodynamics spoton... Now for a cup of coffee and a glazed donut. BTW, the "Red Ryding Hood" spider next to it is the one you're goin to be contending with in the very near future...I'd have to say these are quite a pair...lol Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Are you talking about this one???????????????? The one that has the radiators front mtd? The one that the hood opens from the back? The one that has a KILLER turbo motor? Let me know... LOL Image Unavailable, Please Login
There is nothing better than hyjacking a thread while the OP is down and out.... Dave, how's the hairdo from riding in the convertible.......
The watchful eyes are always open. I only needed to grab a 12 yr old out of the pool to get me hooked up. Same 12 yr old taught me how to lower the top on the rental. CHEATING, plain and simple! I would far rather call it that as calling it a "developement platform scares me and reminds me how far behind I am falling in this little quest of mine. I keep saying it but... this working for a living is getting in the way of race car building.
I thought it was a due time to break the old girl out of Safe keeping. Bruce and Vince have a shiny red sled making stink, Fatso has his running and just needs to put the wheels on and BW has his cheater car cover pulled back.... I needed something to one up this bunch on a double digit below zero day. The OEM, Factory supplied race equipment Hula Girl.... that oughta do it. BW was wondering why the Stack dash was offset to the left... cats out of the bag now, it was designed that way for a reason, the girl needs her spot. With a couple days of sunshine making a dent in this bug we picked up and couldnt shake... progress can now be made. I was a little worried about the office staff seeing the parts bills for this project so I pulled the "How about a warm get away for a long weekend?" ploy out of the bag-o-tricks. I should be golden for the first round of parts but will have to work on round two quickly, I could buy a 308 for what the first round cost. Tough enough to think outside the box on the car build when cheatin at this level, tougher yet to play the politics required when spending money on a new engine when the one in the car still runs fine but is at TBO..... that was a tough sale and raised the bar a bit!
Among my local friends in regards to that significant other we say, "how many pairs of shoes is that going to cost you?"
Glad to see the hula girl......I just think I need to see a real one in the flesh. Another opportunity for the Cali guys to give me crap : Just got to the shop, over an inch of ice here the Tues. night/Wed. morning, 3-4 inches of snow on top of that, 50 mph winds after all of that, electric was out Tues. night and didn't come back on until 4pm yesterday. On top of all that, I braved the storm Tues. night and went to a hockey game in Columbus, OH (120 miles away) and left my cell phone at the restaurant. I %$#@**&^^% LOVE THIS PLACE!
It is a very chilly 43 degrees by the beach as the cold air comes off the water. My garage is cold ,feezing by cali standards, as a sit on the ice cold floor crimping Dave's gold connector pins. I should be finished by lunch. Then I'm going to run my 550 down to plugzit's house and see what the old boy is doing.
"Cold air"... please! That is 65 degrees warmer than it was here last night. We would be wearing Tee shirts for an evening stroll in that weather. Sending a very impressive batch of weather your way now Gary... this one will finish off any remaining pipes not taken out by the first batch. Gore lives down that way doesnt he?
The guy sitting at the Tiki bar in Key West was wearing a shirt stating "Would you please tell you Boob's to quit staring at my eyes"... near purged the Margarita when I read that. Ten minutes later I see a twin fly over with Livestock painted on the tail.... I was sure Flyboy had flown the coop for the weekend. Sureal enough a moment to justify the next bar order and try to learn how to text while half lit up to see if Mr and Mrs F were in the neighborhood. Sometimes you just have to say 'Screw it' and walk away for a few days. I am the newly educated Village Idiot that just learned that lesson. Pushing Kris to the 13 hr days has a price tag connected to it. Do it wiser than me, we left with it 60 degrees and returned (in shorts with the jackets left in the car) to -10 and a half inch of ice on the windshield.
I only have to walk down to my basement to get to the tiki bar. Only thing that's missing are the sun, sand, heat, and big boobed bikini girls! Oh, and since this an 'excessive' thread, I'm including a pic of a seized drug runner boat I saw in the news a while back. Check what's hanging out the back of that thing! And some pics of your coated heads. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now that is a boat! While Kris was shopping, I was on the phone with Bruce W discussing costs in KeyWest. The discussion centered on tri 275 OB powered 32 ft boat idling by or the woman laying on the bow. Bruce suggested the boat amounted to nothing more than a down payment on the 28 yr old hood ornament. Fun stuff on the heads. Obviously you have not retrieved your phone yet. Wait for a few days to see the weather we are brewing up and sending your way this time. The prior storms were just practice stuff!
