Well, some spoke about Stefano being fired, and i believe Alonso will go first.
Alonso had the full backing from the team, but after his litle stunt in Hungry when he criticezed the car and worst of all, his manager ofered him to red Bull, Luca said enough, and basicly told him to shut up .
Since then there was he KImi hiring (something that seemed impossible before that) and also some rumors that Santander might be leaving..and if tjhey do, Alonso will surely folow.
We all know Ferrari does not tolerate badmouthing the team, but i guess Alonso could have survived that with just a slap in the wrist, but trying to defect the team was a very wrong move...so, we know he will be there for 2014 but after that i very much doubt it...

He'll go first, but not because he's fired. Or he'll stay because Domenicali is fired.

Ferrari already learned their lesson when they fired Prost, which was an idiotic move of epic proportions. Alonso will not be fired, period. You don't fire the best driver on the grid. Personally, for how terrible the car has been, I find his attitude quite remarkable. He is positive 95% of the time. He is human, and it must be frustrating to waste some of your best years trying to race a sled up the field from 8th on the grid every week.

There is no proof that Alonso's manager was trying to get him a Red Bull ride. His manager was seen around the Red Bull motorhome and the media ran with that speculation - despite no concrete evidence whatsoever. In fact, Carlos Sainz Jr. (a Red Bull development driver) is managed by the same guy, and that is what the meeting was likely about.

I'm quite confident he's on his way to Mclaren in 2015.

Alonso has been actively looking for a different seat this year. Some believe it might be Mclaren as early as 2014 (Mclaren still hasn't announced their full line up), but I think it might not happen that quick.

    We shall see.

Mmmm... am I missing something or is there new evidence since the Hungary affair?

Because if there is nothing new, this has been discussed ad nauseam.

And his manager had a meeting with Horner...who later confirmed it was about Alonso.

Calling his team idiots certainly didn't help either.

It's not Alonso's fault that Ferrari haven't been able to give him a car that is competitive. He's doing the best he can with the junk they give him.

Alonso has made it crystal clear he wants to retire at Ferrari. Horner can say whatever he wants, we all know how much he loves to stir the pot. McLaren has said they would love to have him back and contacted him about it, and Alonso said that while he was flattered, he loves Ferrari.

We will see who is right down the road, but I think Alonso is staying put at Ferrari. If he left for McLaren I wouldn't blame him a bit.

+1. And where else would he go? 2014 is a complete lottery so any of the top teams are in with a chance of creating a WDC winning car. Given Ferraris resources, and the life long legend status if he wins WDC there, I expect him to stay.

    Agreed.

To me the question is more: What if 2014 is a continuation of 2013?

How much patience does Alonso have? When will he say enough and quit?

If Ferrari is good next year he'll stay on. Perez will probably stay in that seat, so if the 2014 Ferrari is a dog he can walk into McLaren for 2015. Win win.

I think it is, at least partially. Same deal with Schumacher. Both were supposed to help develop the car (driver input is VERY important), so they're not as good as many thought they were. Just like people say Vettel is lucky because he has the best car, like if it was an accident. Kimi is also a very good technical driver, and that's what engineers need to develop a car to its 100% potential. Just like Webber, Alonso had a more than quick car yesterday (posting several fastest laps), so it wasn't just the car's fault. At least Webber finally admitted that.

Anyway, if Vettel has a contract to 2015, Ferrari wouldn't be able to grab him until 2016. And I'm sure that's Vettel plan already. So what would Ferrari do with that opening just for 2015? I personally don't think the Kimi relationship will work for more than a year, but hope to be wrong there. Then they could get a '#2' driver until Vettel comes on board the following year. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Or how about Hamilton in 2015, and Vettel in 2016? :D I'm pretty sure Ferrari will be in winning form in the next 2 seasons.

Bold statement but I dont think he will be fired just yet. Florian posted that MS is saying the mechs no longer like him etc. DC saying he is lacking motivation and saying so privately but he has no where to go. I see Stefano leaving first but this is F1 and ANYTHING is possible!

What a load of rubbish. If anyone has lacked motivation, it's not Fernando Alonso.

Funny the OP wants Alonso fired but he's the only guy dragging around a crappy car this year and actually making it competitive.

Massa couldn't do it. Massa's average starting position and finishing position is over 5 places back. That's WORSE than any other team on the grid.

Fred is the only guy brave enough to say the team was screwing up about 5 races ago. Duh! Was he right? I guess so looking at the results since then.

Besides, seen Fred and Kimi race "together" next year will most likely be the most entertaining part of the year while Ferrari stays mid- pack once again after RB, Mercedes, and McLaren/Honda.

For that reason alone, we need to keep Alonso on the team.

I've said it once, I'll say it twice. The problem with Ferrari F1 is not the driver, it's the car. Replace the driver and the problem will remain.

Sorry but whoever is in charge of the chassis design needs to up their game because they are getting schooled.

I guess that depends mostly in what seats are available at that moment.
