I doubt it will go that far...they did much the same here with a deadbeat like that, you'd be surprised how quickly they "find the money" to keep the ballin' ride!

NEW ORLEANS, LA Today, the City announced an agreement with Property Room, an online police auction site, to conduct online auctions of forfeited, seized, found and surplus property.

The Citys contract with Property Room includes 843 patrol cars, 18 fire trucks, over 1,500 computers, 2,000 bicycles, printing presses, and thousands of seized or unclaimed items from the New Orleans Police Departments property room. In addition, Property Room will auction off a 2002 Bentley, valued at $110,000, which was seized from a local business owner who was delinquent on sales taxes due to the City.

Commissions will work on a sliding scale based on the type of item and the amount it sells for. As an example, the City will make a profit of 87.5% on vehicles.

Property Room auctions cover most categories of consumer goods, from watches, laptops and power tools to jewelry, coins and cars. Unique items on the website have included eight-person bikes, Persian rugs, signed art and surfboards.

As we continue our aggressive tax collection, it is imperative that we have a partner that provides an effective auction platform with a seamless process.
