I believe it JM. I was getting phone calls and texts a few times a month, but haven't heard from anyone since Vincent's offer at the start of December.

So the demand has eased off a little it seems, which is good because I am sick of telling them no.

 

Got a family friend that is storing his 1986 Volvo Bus Motorhome in the yard at my parents place and my customers keep asking to buy it lol

Keep telling them wouldn't be able to afford, he wants $30K for it, which I think is way too optimistic and I know nothing about Motorhomes.

The owner "know's what he's got" he told me, so maybe it's worth that?

 

Get around 30 of your high-end worth clients to form a partnership and buy it ?

They could live in it ?

 

Definitely did not ask about his Residency visa lol.

I am sure he will end up buying something, there are still around 12 original homes left in that street of 36 I just counted if he is looking for a knockdown to rebuild.

Looks like there are-

14 original homes from the early 80's (mine included)
10 built in the 90's I reckon.
12 new homes built within the last 5 years or less, one just completed and another being built now from what I can see.

Plenty of stock left there for Vincent to buy, smash and rebuild.

I will definitely be the last man standing I reckon, but not for the reasons you just mentioned.

 

Pap I'm now in the market for another cheap car license pan.
The one you did work on those few years ago has had a full height wash in the Little Laura River and it's fully foiked!

Is Vincent a Surf Club member ?

 

99% of them I purchase are unregistered, but I always do a PPSR on them and have never come across a stolen, written off/repaired, speedo tampered with car in that time.

Purchased a few over the years with finance owning, but I do the deal where I have them supply their finance company details so I can pay their loan out and I give them the difference in cash.

Most recent being a 2011 Territory and a 2014 Colorado.

I run out of stock all the time mate, currently have 8 cars in my yard and they are all sold and being paid off, so have nothing left to sell.

Just purchased a nice VE out of Brisbane, will be here next week or so.

Always looking, I try to pick the best ones that will need least amount of work, but doesn't always end up that way of course. They always need some repairs, 50% of owners aren't honest when I ask them questions about the car before I commit to purchasing it.

When it arrives, most times they require more work than they told me, and I only ask the obvious questions like tyre condition, roof lining sagging, aircon hot or cold, windscreen cracked, all the big dollar items that cost a fortune out here to repair.

I do a/c repairs, but the rest they **** me hard on. As long as it starts, runs and drives and I know what I am getting into I will buy it. But as I mentioned, most cars show up with more work than I anticipated.

But it's all good, I always make money on them, so it's not the end of the world.

Some cars I spend all day on only make $300, some cars I spend 4hrs on and I make $1000. So it always balances out, I just wish they told me the truth before the car got here so I could pre-order the parts or tyres or windscreens etc.

Lol, they probably could all chip in together to buy it and they all want to live in it, yes. That's why they want I think lol, just to live in it.

 

Wish you asked me back in November, a mate was selling a 2006 one with only 180,000 km on it and I was thinking of buying it myself just to rent it out.

Another mate ended up buying it to make the move to Townsville in December with his family because he was quoted $13K to $16K for the move, so he purchased this truck and made the move himself.

He's got it there now and doesn't want to sell because I already asked him early January when I last talked to him, he's using it for a work truck at the moment lol. He's an Electrician.

I will definitely keep an eye out for you man or let you know if he ever wants to sell it as you will rent it out more than I ever will lol.

It is and it used to be my favourite 20 years ago when they used to have that amazing seafood buffett for two.

All their food was amazing, but it turned to **** in the late 2000's and I remember we went there a few times when I was married on the GC in 2009 with all the friends and family and I was disappointed with it all.

Ended up going again a few times after that in the years later here and there and it was still **** food and atmosphere.

Hopefully things will pick up by the time I move there.

 

Bugger.

 

The last good place on the GC to eat was the old beer garden .............60 years ago.
