When repainting (bare metal) should the factory seams be completly smoothed out so as to not be seen when painted? I believe on some original cars the seams are visiable.

Only seams I can think of are in the sills. Which seams do you see?

The roof buttresses, on the horizontal plane, is my other guess...

    Exactly
You can tell if a Dino has been repainted as bodymen see this not as original but as unsightly and fill it in. Butch Dennison (http://www.qualitythatgoes.com/) commented how these were standard Ferrari design in many of the earlier models preceeding the Dino. He might know as he performs the major restorations on Jon Shirley's collection.

Yes, They are barely visible through the paint. Dinos certainly have their quirks, don't they? Fred

Fred, please don't tell me they are supposed to be visible? This "quality control" bit is starting to give me the willies...

Mine were visible after brainy guy (before me) sandblasted the whole car...thus I releaded. It is staying leaded.
Will the Concours judges here know about overdoing it?
    Naaah, I don't think so.

    Regards, Alberto

Alberto, You need to look VERY closely to see the slight seam along the buttresses and into the back fenders. You won't have any judging problems. When I first noticed the seams, a number of years ago, I thought that there was something wrong with my car! Fred

I think that there may also be a vertical seam on each rocker panel, running downward from the lower door cutline. I wouldn't fill any of them. Fred
