There are so many cars that have been announced and displayed but i want to know how they drive! Artura? Lotus! and most of all this 296!!!!
Well one thing the lucky few chosen reviewers will say over and over: “It sure is fun to drive.” That you can bet on.
I reckon late spring for the 296 tests & reviews unless it gets further delayed like the Artura to the autumn
Derailed in uk said demo cars in spring. That was at the unveiling. Will be poping in next week so will get an update.
my dealer in FL says i should have my actual car in CY 2022. i am a first time ferrari buyer and so far he hasn't even called me in to finalize specs- so fat chance of that. at this rate the media won't get their hands on it till Q1 next year. i doubt i'll see it in CY 2022.
First deliveries in the US will be Q4 of 2022. Unless you were at the very top of the list expect Q1 or Q2 of 2023.
I had a lot of hopes but too many negative comments. Looks like car will be obsolete/uninteresting before it sees the day.
Agreed. Once some test and reviews come out and if it’s faster than everything else it could be the next big thing.
Not if it’s faster. If it’s competitively fast AND fun to drive. The whole point it fun. Not to mention the styling is very good.
I had high hopes. Design not really good, flawed from almost every angle including funny front lights. 830 hp is good. v6, unergonomic cabin, all bad. steering wheel with touch controls - bad. takes the fun of driving.
How does it take the fun out of driving? While I agree that touch controls in cars are less than ideal, the haptic controls on the wheel CAN be locked … so that you are not inadvertently activating a function during hard driving. So I get it that many don’t like them, but not sure I understand how it makes driving less fun. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I was told at Tampa...2-2.5yrs from 1st orders being taken now but only for high ranking VIP customers. Plus a 20% deposit.. 50-80k NON-REFUNDABLE deposit and signed contract on that deposit. I was told it would be 2.5-3yrs for regular customers from now. That would put me into 2024 before I'd see mine. I am not interested in going down that road.
With such onerous terms you might suspect they are expecting people to cancel, to me, that's not the sign of a highly desirable car, otherwise, it would be easy to replace a cancelled order with 'next in line'... That car does have an unproven V6 with hot-nested turbos, that's got to be difficult to manage (all that heat on top of the engine where cooling is more difficult and limited air ducts in the body), I presume there will be engine issues (not related to hybrid)
Dealer told me the same thing with deposit when I went to order a F8 back in August. Non-Refundable and you sign a few legal docs and legal binding contract towards the deposit too. I'm not one to back out of ordering cars and such but the wait quoted on the F8 was 2yrs in August. I asked the sales guy what if something happened a year down the road...lost jobs, medical issues and I could not get the car and needed the 50k back? Dealer told me they do not refund deposits as soon as the money in transferred and papers signed. Needless to say I did not order the F8. The dealer could care less and Ferrari could care less so then losing a customer is not the issue. They have more customers than they know what to do with is what I am told.
It seems that dealer has a history of operating quite differently than most the others. Most the others offer refunds up until your order is allocated and car is in production and then they hold your deposit until the car arrives and is sold (regardless of to the original person ordering or not).
Odd because the brother dealer in Orlando has made no such requests. 15k deposit. I was second in line but assume I’m in the back of the front. No worries about the reviews. It’s beautiful and nimble. ScottS
Have there been any reviews and/or estimates as to what the battery maintenance on the 296 is going to be?
