When will the SF90 first published test be out?

No criticism, save the German comparison.
Kind of a bummer one cannot just start up with the ICE for a whiff of nostalgic drama. I wonder if the Exhaust will have valves that open and close similar to current models.
previously, SF90 was supposed to be available at the pilota classes. Does anyone know if this is still the case?
As more reviews come out, we will see if everyone is as uniformly glowing in their assessment. I imagine the journos will tread lightly to avoid raising the ire of the mothership.

 

There’s some good videos being posted on German Car Forum. The 0-200 kph time looks epic. I timed about 6 seconds.

Saw the car in Austin at the reveal. Looks like the motor almost sits on the ground looking through the rear hatch. Beautiful car. Got a couple friends with them in order. Can’t wait to see it on the road.

I had the same thought: it wouldn’t be out of place in the next Alien flick.
It was a conscious decision on their part.
I would love to see the alternatives that didn’t make the cut, likely just plastic shrouds of different configurations.

I thought the rear was a mess and the weight of the car will kill the handling. Sounds like Ferrari have pulled out a winner though, assuming it is reliable.

 

good reviews, it's basically a cheaper La Ferrari in terms of experience it seems - wonder if it will actually devalue the La ?

 

I don’t think there’s much to the LaFerrari similarly other than both electric. It’s totally different.

 

similiar horsepower / similiar laptimes / (imo) similar styling / both hybrids

 

I remember this question from when the 599GTO came out, and people wondered the same about the Enzo. The GTO was officially 1s faster at Fiorano if I remember, a little but like the situation with SF90 vs LaFerrari today. The GTO was a limited edition vs SF90 a production car as well. I think 10 years on, Enzo seems to have not been in the shadow of the 599GTO, in my opinion. The prices reflect that. I expect the same to happen here.

Separately, LaFerrari might fall further vs the other hypercars because of the $200k kers battery replacement facing many cars now or quite soon.

 

Has anyone yet identified cost of replacement kers battery for SF90?

 

I think you may need to wait until the cars start to go out of warranty before a real replacement price is known. That I think was the case with laferrari.

Even though capacity and price may not be closely related, the laferrari battery is 2.3kwh, the SF90 one is more than 3x at 7.9kwh. Now sometimes old technology costs more than (better) new tech, but with Ferrari, I'd guess they'd sell it for whatever they could get away with, which given the SF90's price and likely depreciation, is going to be a lot less than the $200k for the laferrari part

 

What is going to be interesting is to see if 3rd party replacements become available at both 7.9Kwh (but lighter) or higher capacity (at a similar weight) and if the electronics and systems will be able to deal with it or need the equivalent of an ECU re-mapping.

 

I think (but I don't know for sure) that there is some proprietary electronics inside the laferrari battery which allows the car to identify it as an OEM battery. Apart from ticking the safety box, it will keep the accountants at Maranello happy since only the overpriced OEM item will work.

If this is the case, I expect something similar in the sf90.

 

I understand what you're saying for sure but imo the Enzo distingushes itself a lot from the 599 in it's relatively wild design

maybe I'm getting older now but to me the La Ferrari looks very similar to the sf90
