www.gordonkeith.com He's a Radio Schtick Monkey on the Ticket 1310am. don't go there unless you feel like wasting several hours.
LOL, Wow ouch. Pretty smart weapon but not very applicable in the everyday world; Metaldetectors? Uncomfortable? And Im assuming you have to buy 365 of these deals to be 100% safe walking in the streets which can amount to hundreds of dollars unless she plans on wearing the same one over and over which takes me to the next one...Smell? Not to mention she'd probably make the suspect agitated, which is another one...Will it make the situation worse? I'd stick to giving my woman pepper spray instead if she ain't wanna' learn to shoot a gun.
It was so ludicrous I had to post it. It's like closing the barn door after the animals already got out... by the time it works, she's ALREADY been raped, and will suffer the same mental trauma that goes along with it.
i think it's a great idea... There's nothing ludicrous about it... She effectively stops the rape with this device... Sure, the trauma of being assaulted is still there, but there's no concern or becoming pregnant or contracting AIDS... It's an immediate means to an end... Also, that long, sharp pin looks like it hurts... i imagine that the assailant would be pissed after being pricked (no pun intended), but his first instinct would probably be to jump off of her... The surprise factor in a device like that must be huge...
Oh, and as for using it everyday and such... i don't see why, at the end of the day, when she's home, she can't just wash it... Seems to be as simple as that...
you want the east coast? Even if you sold them for a loss, it might be a loss leader for your practice.
Agree. Rape needs to be solved at the cause stage not the result stage. Fathers need to show proper respect to their son's mothers, etc. ... and yes aware that is not the only cause but a large number of date rape cases, etc. result from thinking of woman incorrectly. Pete
Holy crap!!!! Those are originally hooks you carry when snowmobiling or ice-fishing to get out of the water when the ice breaks!
Just imagine getting one of those stuck at your thigh, and then twisted. Oh my god, I dont even want to come across a girl with that.
Do you get the feeling there are 1 or 2 of us who I think dont quite get how it works? Thigh? Jugular?
What a joke. The only thing that will do is piss the attacker off. I bet it doesn't even stick out more than 2". I don't like things like this because they give someone a false sence of security. If you are going to have a weapon it should be one that will do some real damage, not one that will just make the attacker say "ouch".
That one might be but this one isn't June 08, 2005 Anti-rape device must be banned, say women From Jonathan Clayton in Johannesburg FURIOUS South African women have called for a controversial new anti-rape device, dubbed a rat trap, to be banned by the Government. The tampon-like device, invented by a woman, supposedly protects women from rapists by cutting into a mans penis. It has sparked an empassioned debate over the high number of rapes committed each day in the country and the authorities apparent failure to tackle the issue. Activists are outraged and want to stop it going on sale alongside tampons in chemists and supermarkets next month. Charlene Smith, a leading anti-rape campaigner, said: This is a medieval instrument, based on male-hating notions and fundamentally misunderstands the nature of rape and violence against women in this society. It is vengeful, horrible, and disgusting. The woman who invented this needs help. The device, which Sonette Ehlers, its inventor, has patented, is worn like a tampon but is hollow. In the event of a rape, she said that it would fold around the rapists penis and attach itself with microscopic hooks. It is impossible to remove the clamped device without medical intervention. We have to do something to protect ourselves. While this will not prevent rape, it will help identify attackers and secure convictions, Ms Ehlers told the Johannesburg Star. Womens groups disputed her claims, which have reopened a debate over violence against women in South Africa. The country has been called the rape capital of the world. Lisa Vetten, of the Centre of Violence and Reconciliation, said: This is like going back to the days when women were forced to wear chastity belts. It is a terrifying thought that women are being made to adapt to rape. The South African Law Commission recently estimated that 1.69 million women a year were raped in the country but that only 52,000 cases a year are reported. Other estimates put the rate even higher. Ms Smith said: More than 40 per cent of those raped are children and nationally more than 65 per cent are gang rapes. Whether this translates as a woman raped every 26 seconds or more is irrelevant. It is far too many and not enough is being done to tackle it. This is not a male-only problem, it is a societal problem. The activists views were echoed by Jenny Crwys- William, the host of a popular radio talk show, who described the device as a profoundly disturbing development that underlined how society was in danger of accepting rape as a reality of everyday life. We need more police and more sensitive police responses to rape. When more rapists go behind bars, rape rates will go down, she told listeners. Many callers criticised the Government for a head in the sand approach similar to its well-known reluctance to accept the gravity of the HIV/Aids epidemic in the country. This will increase the danger to women, who are already in great danger during a rape. The Government must not allow this to go on sale, one rape victim, who was stabbed twice during an attack, said.
Ooooooh I see. LOL I thought it was for real, because this country has gotten so wussified it wouldn't have surprised me if it were true.
UT - I'm not so sure it's a joke. That website is based in Sweden. Look at it closer. I think, as misguided as it is, that whoever created that site is absolutely serious.
How is it supposed to protect the woman against a possible AIDS/HIV infection? The guy gets in, gets jabbed by the thing, and starts bleeding while inside her. She now has AIDS/HIV-infected blood inside her. How does this help?
I just decided to give my girlfriend AIDS to begin with. That way, if she gets raped the guy that does it is screwed.
