Frank Sinatra said, "Ferrari's are for people who want to be somebody, Lamborghini's are for people who are somebody!" Dont really mean anything by posting it, just thought it was funny.
"dead" right Scud I like lambos but really, who wants one ???? when did they last win a GPWC ?? no, the main reason for few lambos is parts ....... all the lambos on the Coast are in Tony Mellino's shop waiting for parts
if Frank (chairman of the board) is so smart why is he so dead, same could be said for ayrton senna, but a didnt know lamborghini was so popular as to have a concour, infact eureka sports kit cars are having a concour - all the lambo's can join em, dont they look the same?
Weren't they Purvis (or Pervers) before some Aussie bought the moulds ? Frank is dead because he made a wise crack about Dean Martin and Senna forgot to turn the steering wheel
If I'm not mistaken they usually hold the one in Sydney at Darling Harbour and the Maserati one at Vaucluse house.I dont know of the dates though
There was one at Darling Harbour in 2003 when it was the 40th Anniversary but way way smaller compared to the Ferrari Concours. I dunno if they had something last year, but it was in Novemberish.
john you do know the real reason for sennas death don't you? do you watch discovery channel? or do i need to explain what happened?? rock on
yes Rog, I do, you should know most things I say are tongue-in-cheek and I love Lamborghini, just a bit sad the Italians aren't driving the boat going to this w/e FCA picnic ? won't be long before I ACTUALLY turn up in a proper car oh yeah rock on
i was gonna get a Purvis Eureka, don't mind the styling for an original kit car. checked out their chatrooms and stuff and it turned out a lot of them really want a Lambo replica or to fool people into thinking it's a Lambo. i pointed out how wrong all the replicas they were showing were and how if a guy like me saw them on the street while they were playing pretend i would just think they were a sad git. some didn't take that too well so i don't play in their sandpit anymore
You guys should have meetings out at Homebush on Sundays. There are quite a few performance cars that meet out there for a cruise. Last time i went out there (A while ago) there was a giallo 575m, a new 997, 3 996TT's and a Gallardo. Not to mention the numerous M3's and Porka's, Mercs etc... At 1st i thought it was a one off thing, but ive been out there twice, and ive seem em twice. Anyone know of the little shin dig?
care factor.......................ZERO. have you ever seen an F40 drag a Lambo dildo (or whatever that latest model name is . They had a yellow and black one at the Grand prix last year, in the tattersall's tent) Anyway the maserati was even faster.
well the Lambo boys like to quote the figures that the factory or some magazine guy who didn't own the car managed to do, but very few of the owners are willing to launch their cars to achieve that potential... with good ($$$$) reason. a Lambo's best drag race starts at 150.
during the Grand Prix, they have parade laps of the cars in the Tattersall's tent. Last year on the track together was 2 lambo's (a black one and a yellow one) the latest maserati driven by steve ellott from Lance Dixon, and I took out the road going F40. What happens is because it's a parade lap and the pace car has about 4 passengers, speed can be a bit slow. (the LM hates it), so what we do is. let the other cars go and a few of us lag behind so that we can have a dice down the main straight. So we have 2 lambo's, a Maserati 4.2 litre (i think), and the F40. The lambo's were by far slower then the maser and the F40 would have gone straight over the top of all the cars if I hadn't of braked. For those guys who remember what it's like to have a Daytona or a Boxer go past you when your in a 308, do you get my drift. So who cares about concours days of Lambo's.
geez... You sure say exactly what you think! I love it! Much like myself. I often get commented on my untactfull, hurtfully blunt comments.
I am just a one eyed ferrari person who appreciates the whole history and marque......FERRARI. And when I drive past the Ferrari Pits in the LM (flat out down the straight on the sunday, 3 hours before the real cars come out at the grand prix, being in a lambo or a maser, doesn't mean jack ****. To be able to go flat out past those pits in an F40LM (a very special car in it's own right), makes even normal track days seem not to important.
