I am converting the 308 from slow down lights to EGT gage,

where are the thermocouples located in the exhaust system ?

On my car they were yanked out and the wires wrapped around the frame

    Typical PO nonsense

    thanks

To be more specific, they are located to measure the temperature of the exhaust gas exiting the catalytic converter (to detect if unburnt charge is wrongly being burned inside the cat). If you are doing an EGT system on a catless exhaust system, it would maybe be better to mount them as close as possible to the exhaust ports where you have exhaust gas from all of the cylinders in that bank -- i.e., in the exhaust header collectors or just downstream from the collectors. Just a thought (if you are going catless)...

I made a bushing and threaded it into the CO sampling port on the header
