also Manuel, again I wasn't trying to knock hispanics. I must sound so racist, but I promise I'm not. I am just looking for folks that don't use banks be them black, white, other, male or female...makes no diff to me! Texas just happens to have lots of hispanics and some of them operate outside the system. Also they actually work whereas the citizens I've run across all seem to be on gov't assistance of some sort.

    Hey Jim,
I used to work over in the Harry Hines area and I would see those vans driving through every Friday. They always had lines of people waiting to get their money. I actually thought about getting into that business myself but didn't have the stones to put up the money.

You might consider driving around town in some of the area's previously mentioned. Just look for the areas where all the signs are suddenly no longer in English. Those are propbably good target areas since there is usually a lot of foot traffic there as opposed to car traffic.

Are zoning maps easy to come by? It might save some time and energy while doing your "scouting" if you can pinpoint areas zoned commercial/manufacturing.

I've got a commercial broker sending me a book with all the commercial buildings and their owners etc. Might be useful.

DallasGuy: from your statement it sounds like there might be competition already. I need to do some recon now.

Hehehe :) not to worry Jim... I am serious about the areas I mentioned ( half joking about the sniper team, some areas you would love to have one available ) I'm trying to help a brother out man. I think the zoning idea is a good one. You can find some maps with the zoning areas at the different cities websites. I know that Arlington has them in .pdf format. The Northeast Ft. Worth area is mostly minorities if you want to check that out too.

Have you considered looking at the Alliance, TX location? Plenty of manufacturing companies there.

Or those plants off of Meacham Blvd?

Isn't the Alliance area just a bunch of airplane hangars and huge distro. centers?

Airframe & Powerplant technicians make great money. And most modern distro centers are largely automated.
