Apparently, we have this detailed knowledgebase here on F-chat. I'm curious how deep it goes and am willing to put it to the test.

As such, these things are of minor personal interest to me, so I'm wondering that since "we" know what VINs the Magnum, P.I. cars are, can "we" not determine what and where other "famous" f-cars are?

Here's the specific challenge--where are they now?

    1. The Miami Vice television Testarossas

    2. The Miami Vice movie 430

Now, I suspect there are at least one or two people who know, but aren't likely to share that information.

The miami vice TR is sitting in a place called the Swap Shop in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. Its a flea market and is there along with the owners numerous other cars (F50, Enzo, 275 comp car (one of 4), Daytona Spider and various other cars). Its a cool place, i definately recomend it to anyone who is visiting the area.

No idea on the F430 but i guess thats not as "iconic" as the white TR

FNA gave the show 2 cars as is standard practice. That leaves one unaccounted for.

PAP348 - they only used 308's and 308qv's in the Magnum PI TV show I believe. They had one for sale on Ebay last Summer in Longmont, CO. (I don't recall the price or condition) - it would be fun to know where they are now.

Oh my. Not a fitting scene for that lot of cars.

Are the cars supposed to be some type of 'attraction'?

I thought that one of the TR's in Miami Vice was a "kit" Corvette. Am I wrong?

I know one of the Miami Vice F430’s was auctioned off for charity (CURE Foundation) during the Red Carpet Premier after party, of which we were pleased to be a part of. The link should still be up. Visit www.ScuderiaRampage.com and click on the Miami Vice link. If I recall correctly The Collection in Florida presented the car but I don’t know much else.

While we are here on the topic, some of you guys may not know this......Don Johnson had his own silver Testarossa. The 1989 Testarossa was a gift for him from Enzo Ferrari before he died as a thanks to Don Johnson for making the Testarossa such a major sales sucess worldwide. The silver Testarossa was autcioned off in 2003 for US$88,560 after Don delcared bankruptcy.

Yes, thats correct. The black Ferrari Spyder 365 GTS/4 was really a Corvette chassis with Ferrari 'styled' body parts and Ferrari hardware inside the cabin. :)

Ferrari North America delivered black cars but Michael Mann had them painted white for better contrast at night. The car in black can be seen in episode "When Irish Eyes Are Crying" (3.1) driven by an IRA gun. Later in the story, Sonny's black Ferrari Spyder gets blown up by the bad guys. In the next episode "Stone's War," he receives his new white Testarossa. :)

There are actually about 20 old Miami Vice threads and a a whole bunch about the new movie.

Here's a good one about the TV show and the cars, some of which has already been repeated above...

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112650&highlight=miami+vice

After doing my research for the above thread, I added the classic take of Crockett looking at his "Daytona" getting blown up for my avatar!

There have been many sightings from people on the Universal Studios Tour in Los Angeles that have seen (what is supposed to be) one of the Magnum PI cars sitting uncovered, without the top, sitting on the side of a sound stage, forgotten and trashed. Universal produced Magnum P.I.
