The water pump that I bought from T.Rutlands for my 82 gtsi just does not last and for the price of $500 it is definitely does not reflect or translate into quality nor durability. For the past 8 years, about every 2 years I needed to replace water pump.

Where can I buy one that last for a while?

It sounds like you have some other problem. I last changed the waterpump on my 308QV when I first got the car 14 years and over 35,000 miles ago...

I'd check the tension on your belt, sounds like it's too tight to me.

East Coast Jaguar in Delaware does Ferrari water pump rebuilds. I did a core exchange with him when I pulled mine. He puts in a larger seal, more robust than the OEM replacement seal. IIRC, the cost, with core exchange, was $219, new gasket included. They do nice work. Just remember to remove your pulley before you send them the old pump.

Have one of Nicks water pumps, 800 hard miles on it over the past two weekends. I have the small 7mm belt which is super tight and have not had any problems so far. Nick has been very helpfull over the course of my rebuild, will do biz with him again if I need anything.

I have just ordered one with an Electromotive Xdi, Nick has been really helpful with me, I will post how I get on when it lands here in the Uk.

Out of interest did you use a standard belt or one from elsewhere

Used standard Gates 1000mm belt could not get the 975 belt to go on. Have a supplier that got me a couple for 14.00 each.

Can you let me know who they are so I can see if they will send to the Uk.

Also which model do you have as you haven't filled in your profile, I am pretty sure they are diferent belts on several models
