Why do you need to find one ? Its worth $5M + so the owners may be rather secretive

    At Cavallino in Florida,
Last year at Laguna Seca in August there were a couple.

You can see them several places.

Ohhh..... you want to purchase one. In that case they find you.

Check the Lambo dealers, I have heard many are trading them in for Gallardos particularly bright yellow ones.

Added note a user has been accumulating them and has about 50% of the total production, grab 'em while you still can.

For the level of this thread, JG has two of them. And according to some, one is a 1/1 model. By the way, I like 0846's new paintjob (above). If it is ever accepted to Pebble Beach, I think that is the paint scheme (and exhaust treatment) that should be on the car for the show!

If you want to see a 412P 0854 will be at Lime Rock this Sunday.

Ok Jim (Wayne, most anyone else) - now for the ignorance: as I understand it, a P3/4 means a P3 that was then converted to a P4. How, then, is a P4 different from a 412P?

Once again (0ff the top of my head)

    0844 P3/412P/330 Can AM/412P
    0846 P3/P4
    0848 P3/412P
    0850 412P
    0854 412P
    0856 P4
    0858 P4/350 Can Am

P3's had 330 P3 motors,2 valve heads, webbers, 593 P3 gearboxes, 593 suspention uprights and 593 wheels. 0844 and 0848 were upgraded by Ferrari and sold to customers.
These were caled 412P's. 330 P3 motors, 2 valve heads, zf then 603r gearboxes, 603 suspention uprights, and 603 wheels.

    0846 began as a P3 with a P3 motor,593 P3 gearbox, 593 suspention uprights and 593 wheels. It was converted by Ferrari to a P3/P4. P4 engine, Lucas Mech.FI, 603 suspention uprights, P4 pedals, 593a gearbox then 603r gearbox and 603 wheels. P4 spyder tail. P3 nose. P4 rad outlet panel.

Looks good to me, except you didn't mention that, in addition to the Lucas MFI, "P4 engine" (0846-upgrade, 0856, 0858, 0860) also meant 3-valve heads as opposed to the 2-valve heads of the P3 engine (which you did mention).

Small suggestion...maybe it should be written with an+ between the chassis number and a colon between the changes to a particular car.

The way it is written now, it looks like 846 was a P3 then became a P4 and not a P3/4.....

    ie; 846= P3/P4 should be written 846= P3 : P3/4

P3 Tipo 216 B P3 Engine made 420 HP with Lucas FI and 412P Tipo 241 made 410 HP with webbers. Does anyone know the torque figures at various RPM for these engines?
