I've been searching the net for two weeks now for an original 348 steering wheel. All have been more $$ than I thought was worth it, when I've been able to find someone selling one (which hasn't been easy). After reading this post I found one for the best price and condition at ferraripartsexchange.com, and the people were incredibly nice. All I can say is, the internet is key, having all the information you need at your fingertips is worth all the money in the world, and this place rocks! Thanks for everyone's suggestions.....

perhaps its because i am in a "mood" so to speak, but the majority of the links will only be of help if
    1) its normal business hours and the places are open, and you ca call

    2) if you know the freaking part number to begin with.

if you dont know the damn part numbers, how are you supposed to cross reference the parts and compare prices?????

the cross reference thread is dead.... now i am pissed. i am going to find every part number i have ever crossed and post it again.

i dont want to call all over the planet and bug these business's until i am ready to buy. i cannot buy the parts until i have searched them out and compared the prices. this sucks. this is the one thing that makes me want to give up on cars completely. guns and guitars take up much less room.

Umm... my phone rings 24/7, and I usually answer it when I'm not searching for stuff for other folks. Research projects are pretty common here at Ricambi -- it only peeves me when I spend hours and hours finding esoteric parts, then the customer goes price-shopping around the globe.

If you tell me "I need that little thing that attaches to the doohickey across from the whose-e-what", it'll take some time... but I'll find your part number. Once I find the OEM Ferrari part number, I share it with prospects/customers.

Give me a shout (although preferably not at 2:00am!) and lets see what we can do.

    Best,
    Daniel

Could someone please update the links (particularly on the first page) of this thread? Replace Sodacoms with Ricambiamerica and bracket or delete the now non active links etc? There's a lot of them.

    Thanks!

If I had the ability I would take the time and do it. You are right though it takes a while to get thru all the pages and a lot of it is no good anymore.
Just like the cross ref. parts sticky could use some organing to make it alot easier to find stuff...

Right, Sam. That's Fiat part, #13001, although part #13011 is pictured as such in their catalog (page 12):

    http://www.international-auto.com/index.cfm?fa=p&pid=2464&posid=851153&noapp=1

The gas cap is identical to the Ferrari cap, 60 mm threaded type, and will fit a 308 as well It should fit all Ferraris from the early 70's on.

I bought one as a spare for my GTB several years ago.

    Steve,

Part 13011 is the correct part. Part #13001 will work too, but looks a little different.

This is from page 12 in the International Auto Parts catalog:

    Yes injected BUT...

Thanks for chiming in and please allow me to make a correction. It appears the FRAM filter is just a TOUCH too skinny and therefore allows some dirt past the filter. In other words, if a moderator can REMOVE my previous post that would be great. Seems the $30 normal UFI unit from various vendors (All Ferrari parts, etc) is best.

My only problem with stock unit is that it lacks a metal grate on top to stop substantial bits from cutting through the paper filter. On the track i use a K&N because dust is generally low and the filter it has wire mesh to stop large items from breaking through.
