I absolutely love pumpkin cookies, cupcakes, and bread.

Where is a good place to buy them? I tried baking myself....didnt work.

Where can I buy it? I am willing to drive anywhere between DC and NYC to get a boat load to eat.

    :)

Omar - making pumpkin treats isn't as hard as it seems. I'm not sure if you cook at all, but if you are not semi-experienced in the kitchen, making any sort of sweet bread can be a pain.

Keep trying - you'll hit it right after a few shots, and trust me, a fresh, warm slice of punpkin bread with a fat pat of butter melting on top beats the hell out of any cold bakery-made loaf.

Also, keep in mind that the standard orange halloween pumpkin makes for lousy food - in pies, breads, cookies, etc etc. You need to purchase the pumpkins grown specially for baking.

Keep at it and good luck!

That’s right, it’s back by popular (and incessant) demand! Perhaps CBC’s most sought after seasonal beer, Great Pumpkin Ale flows from the taps on Friday the 10th of September, and will be available through Thanksgiving ‘cuz we’re makin’ a LOT of it.

Beer brewed with pumpkins has been around since the days of colonial New
England, when brewers often had to supplement the traditional barley and hops with ingredients that were readily available. The Cambridge Brewing Co., the first New England craft brewery to produce pumpkin ale, revived the style in the Boston area in 1990. Other craft breweries have jumped on the bandwagon since then, and the beer has developed a loyal following.

Brewed with over 125 pounds of fresh, locally grown sugar pumpkins in each batch, GREAT PUMPKIN ALE has an appropriately ruddy orange hue. The subtle pumpkin flavor is enhanced by the addition of traditional autumn spices, and is guaranteed to please even the most finicky of harvest-time ale fanatics. Come raise a glass in honor of the Great Pumpkin!

    OG: 1.044 FG:1.012 ABV: 4.2%

Pumpkin Ale will be available in carry-out ½ gallon growlers beginning in mid-September. Filled fresh every day by our smiling, gourd-chopping brewers, you can find ‘em in our “Beer-To-Go” fridge right here at CBC. CHEERS!
