Member: AtomStrange Met him in a restaurant that he worked at in Kansas City, MO. I was there with my girlfriend for dinner and he mentioned that he loved Ferraris and spent some time on Ferrarichat. I paid a visit that night and fell in.
ha, I was racing an RX8 in Touring 3 when Ed Zabinski (2008 National Touring 1 Champion) passed me and braked a little before I did. http://www.ferrarichat.com/videos/20060611_RX8_HPT_ferrarihit.mpg
I'm all about 2.5 year old market data. Thanks for the idea, something I will probably check up on every few years.
i was looking for a ferrari hat and must of hit a wrong key. that was before we had the edit feature.
Referenced in a "Sports Car Market" article by either Sheehan or Ahlgrim or maybe Martin himself. cheers, RE
I don't honestly remember but I think it was on a search engine most likely google for me too. I do know that I didn't find it until after I had bought my "needy" 308. Wish I would have found it sooner!!! I do know that I ended up finding out about the local chapter of FCA here on Fchat though!
Got on ebay Motors around November '01, saw that I could conceivably weasel myself into a V12 classic, and began an immediate web search under Ferrari. Came up right away with Fchat and Tom Yang's board, and spent most of my first 1.5 yrs. Ferrari-board time over at Tom's since they were Vintage-12 oriented and Fchat was almost all about post-1975 cars back then. Rob created the Vintage section in mid '03, and I "officially joined" in Oct. '03, or so says my profile.
Some Lambo Power members used to cause trouble I guess and would keep linking to the site. Tho I didn't become a member till I found out there was an active Australian section that one of the members here was linking from a UK car site called jabbasworld which has now been renamed to motorworld. Back in the day I was a member of a hundred zillion car forums. these days fchat is the only site I visit daily
Clyde was/IS much more fun in-person.... All the technical talk is 'here' now, Ric and all of the other tech folks on FList would rather rant about politics than talk about car maintenance. I think I found FChat from another Ferrari website that no longer exists - they had some free documentation online that was pretty impressive, I remember. Mid-late 1990s? Back when FChat was grey/blue in color, and the threads started from the BOTTOM.
When I moved to Dallas I wanted to find a F1 watching bar. Somehow the infamous car show at a strip club came up as a search result so I went and introduced myself to the Dallas gang. The rest is history.
I saw a great picture of Ferrari Enzo in an add in FORZA magazine. I came here hoping to find the picture, but what I found had left me speechless...;-) It's like the virtual paradise for every true tifoso.....LOL
