I am having a hard time finding a spot in my car so people can hear me on my handsfree bluetooth stereo(Poweracoustik CP71) I have tried on the steering column and also attached at the top of the a pillar. THere always seems to be an issue. Maybe its the quality of the microphone. Anyone have a recommendation for a higher quality microphone?

I thought the Power Acoustik CP71 doesn't support external microphone right now? Do you have any differing information?

It has an input in the back for an external microphone.

Yes, but according to PA support, I believe it is not supported. If it works for you that would be good information.

As for location of microphone, the factory puts it in the overhead console, but not sure that is the best location as my wife still tells me the audio sucked. I found keeping spare set set of AirPods in the car is the only real solution.

i currently have my microphone on the top of the A pillar, but the car is just so loud, its hard not pick up that background noise and also cause an echo on the other end of the line. Ive never found any aftermarket bluetooth handsfree units that work well.
