I got the 430 2 weeks ago, and I'm still learning all the little things about this car (which I absolutely love)

The old owner (super awesome guy, that's still helping me out) said he ran it through the door, and said many owner run the cable through a cracked window.

My car has the most amazing leather smell, so I'm reluctant to crank the window and maybe lose this incredible smell.

But I don't want to create a gap in the rubber seal either.

What's my best option in your opinion?
...or am I overthinking this like I do everything else?

Thanks Dominick. I'll read the Manual for the right spot to run that cable

I ran it through the bottom of the door for years but a side effect is that my top window trim is now disfigured a bit and the rubber surrounding of the side mirror has cracked open where the window meets the rubber. The cable puts a bit of tension on the door and the trim.

I always drop the window a little and drape the cable over it before shutting the door

Same as above. over the bottom of the pass door seal.
I differ in opinion from many of other users here who wire the tender to the fuse box behind the driver seat. Mine is wired directly to the battery.
The problem with the fuse box connection is it means if you ever flip the battery cutoff, you're now powering your car with a trickle charger and risk damaging sensitive electronics. That cant happen when connected directly to the battery.

Mine has a tender pigtail hidden in the radiator exhaust vent forward of the front wheel. Makes for easy connection.

I went to the starter connection, and exited out the bottom of the undertray thru a drain hole. Directly at the bottom of the drivers door....so I see it every time.

I run mine through the frunk.
I used the Ctek extension, ran it under the dash over tot he drivers side and used and existing hole on the firewall to reach the frunk.
Works perfect and just have to pop the frunk and plug it in, easy

I run mine through the passenger window :) i just put a microfiber towel on the window and paint so that the wire cant scratch it anymore than it did in the ownership of previous owners.....

Tender connected directly to the battery ofcorse!

this raises another issue for another post. i leave my windows cracked to let the humidity control/AC take moisture out of the car. Spoken with a few high high end detail guys and they say they see moisture, rust etc on many of the cars they detail due to humidity getting locked inside the cars from no ventilation. They suggest leaving windows cracked a hair. One story of a 288GTO that was stored inside (of course) but had mold growing under the dash.

The windows misalign on their own causing the worn trim if I'm understanding your post correctly. It's a common problem on these cars and would not be caused by running the cable under the door.

Window and door is perfectly aligned and without issues. Checked by the Ferrari workshop when I discovered it. They also attributed the issue to the cable and it is the thick cable side that goes into the wall. Since then I lower the window a bit.
