360 is a fab design but the engine is pathetic, 355 or 430 anyday

The only thing pathetic is your comment....

LOL. An ironic comment.. 355 engine that has the reliability of a used soviet commuter car. I know.. reputations aren't earned. I saw it first hand, luckily it wasn't my wallet. And the 430 ugly younger sister with some dubious issues of its own. BTW has the e-diff thrown an error yet?

I'll be the first to admit. I can't drive. On our cruises, I'm always the one in the back getting left behind. I know my limits, so I won't bother stressing myself out.

I'm not usually on the 360 forum, but from the outside looking in, here is what I see.

Personally, I find the 360/430 way too big. I know this was the trend, but the 348/355 pair are more traditional in the sports car sense....the size of the 308/328 are even better.

Between the 348 and the 355, honestly I prefer the 348. Sure the 355 is a beautiful car, some say one of the most beautiful ever, but the 348 just has a bit of the angular nature that I really enjoy. That and the NO POWER STEERING--the true last of the analog Ferraris (power steering, electronic shocks on the 355).

That being said, when the 360 came out, the first one I saw was Azzuro California (or a similar color). I thought it was stunningly beautiful at the time.

Now....I'm sort of meh on it. You can tell it came from the "jellybean era" of cars--and maybe that will come back into fashion.

But even if it does, personally its size hampers its desirability to me. A HUGE ass...

The other thing is--no targa. I'm not a huge 348/355 Spider guy...actually don't like them much at all. But to have an open top on a 360/430, you must go full Spider. I'm not fond of that.

So will the 360 become a collectible? I do agree that the manuals certainly will--just as any manual Ferrari. But, 360 (and 430) production was quite strong--means there are a LOT of them out there. If you have a red on tan 360, then really.....how valuable do you think that "everyone has one" combination will be?

Some in here have also dissed the 348--without realizing that the 348 has taken quite a jump in the past 2 years....again, it's truly analog experience, compared by many to the F40 even. (obviously not as capable).

So--if I want a sports car for fun? Give me analog all day, every day. That is what will become more rare as time goes on.....and that's the experience people will pay for. Especially as Dinos and 308/328s get priced out.

    It's why I love the 348. :)

I own both a 328 and a 360 manual. I have to say that I do agree that the 360 is a bit big (though I obviously still love it or I wouldn't keep it) and in that regard I think my 328 is better as it feels more like a small, sports car. The 360 will obviously outperform it but if I had to choose between the two I probably would keep my 328.

With that digression aside, I do think 360s will be sought after in the future, particularly as cars that were beaten up / not properly maintained get separated out from the truly good cars. Whether it will be a collector car, who knows? Personally I dobut it given production numbers but I do think the six speeds will maintain significant value over f1s based on the driving experience, numbers, and being essentially the last v8 from Ferrari where you have a reasonable chance of finding a manual (I realize there are some 430s that are sticks but not many at all).

Not singling anyone here out.. but I've seen some ridiculousness. Like "I-drive-a-tacoma-during-the-week" you can enter the turn faster than 20 MPH.. ridiculousness.

Being very snarky I'll admit. You guys know my obnoxiousness. :)

And the man has a 400 in his avatar. :)

The 360 has the same engine as the 355 except with variable timing if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think it's just about driving. I've been on a few cruises and if everyone starts "cruising" at 90-100 mph while snaking their way through traffic I'm staying back. 1) I don't want to get a ticket and 2) I don't want to look like a ******bag.

Way to insult half of the Ferrari community in about three sentences.

We know, we know, the Porsche 997 and gated 360 are the greatest cars ever built and you're the genius who owns both of them. We got it.

Well.. Yes. :) As far as insulting everyone.. If Ferrari owners get insulted by THOSE remarks, I probably shouldn't mention "McLaren" or anything "Corvette being half the price and faster". As an owner, I'm not some sensitive little snowflake that finds everything offensive. A little thicker skin on these forums might not be a bad idea.. :)

Wait till my IMS blows.. Then I'll have a different opinion. :)

Well I know how fast my old 360 with CS TCU shifted and I can match it in my 430 manual a lot of the time. WOT @ 8500rpm not so much. Biggest advantage of the F1 is on track and you can keep both hands on the steering wheel.

While some of us here discuss where our car will be 5 to 10 years from now, come join me in living our lives right now and drive our 360, F1 or MT.

Every minute you wait, is every minute lost.

Life is too short. Believe me.

I face life and death situations everyday, and i meet people i dont know, and after 1 minute they are gone.

Buy a god forsaken ferrari and live like its your last day.

There is no other way to live your life, if you can afford one, and just to drive it and not worrying how much it cost tomorrow.
